considered by fans to be one of the best installments in the series and it is not hard to see why. Not only is the film well shot with some decently done suspense scenes but the characters are given a bit more personality this time. It also introduces the wholesome family dynamic with Tommy Jarvis which brings something different to the franchise. Tom Savini is also back doing the gore effects after being absent since Part 1 and he does great work. We also have something that we haven't seen since Kevin Bacon in the first. Actors that actually had a career after doing one of these movies! We have Crispin Glover who brings a kind of quirky energy to his role and Feldman is surprisingly likable and not annoying. Easily the best of the first four films and way better than the horrendously dull Part 3. Siskel and Ebert's glowing review

They really cheated by saying it was the final chapter when it wasn't.

It’s the seminal Jason movie - horny teens partaking in premarital sex and drugs learn the consequences of said actions. Said consequences are hilariously brutal.
