I thought about watching it just because Jonathan Nolan is the show runner.
I tried playing one of the games, but didn’t get into it. I am familiar with the general plot, though.

You might have not liked the games, but knowing your taste in movies you will love the show I think. It is fantastic imo. |

No knowledge of the game but enjoyed the show. Goggins the standout for me, enjoyed seeing something different also.

Watched the first two episodes. I liked them a lot, I'll definitely finish the season.
As an aside, is Amazon trying to make violence be to Prime what sex is to HBO? For a guy like me that loves violent movies and TV, the Prime originals just seem over the top with the violence.
It's not cartoonish enough to be humorous and it's not "real" enough to be intense. It's just a weird in-between zone that makes the action feel choppy and forced in spots.
But I like it a lot so far. I think the leads are shaping up to be a nice trio.

Forgot to mention Goggins. He is easily the best part of the first two episodes. He never disappoints.

I finished it. Still between jobs right now so I have nothing but time.
I really liked it, I'm looking forward to a second season. This is one of the few TV shows that knew exactly how to pace its story over the course of the season. The conclusion to the mystery actually ended up being much more layered and interesting than it was beginning to look about halfway through.
For something I didn't like - a lot of the humor didn't work for me. It can be too silly, but it mostly knew when to turn it off when things were serious, which is a good thing.
Goggins is definitely the best part, but I liked it all-around. I'd rate it an 8/10.

Another thumbs up from me, interesting world, interesting characters, a good cast and well written.
Video games as shows appear to have a better track record than films - before someone replies what about such & such, I haven't watched another.
Look forward to another season in about 2 years
