celebrating its 20th anniversary today. This adaptation of the popular comic book character was panned by critics and fans alike and was a flop. Notably due to the low budget, it had to change the main location of the story from NY to Tampa, Florida. Was successful enough on DVD to receive a director's cut. It's been a while since I have seen it but I think as an action/revenge movie it wasn't bad. Thomas Jane was also inspired casting as the title character.

It's decent. There are some fun moments and Thomas Jane was good. The best Punisher film to date.

Decent enough and Thomas Jane was good in the title role, though I easily prefer the other film adaptations (The Punisher 89 & Punisher:War Zone). Just don’t find it as memorable or entertaining as the other two films.

I found it kinda dull. I thought War Zone was much more entertaining.

I have always been a fan and it is my favorite Punisher movie by quite a distance. It differs from the comics, but it is a fun, campy and violent revenge movie. I have watched it a handful of times.
7/10

A bit of a mixed bag. Not as terrible as the reviews would make you think, but rather trashy and slow-paced. Turning a straight-forward vigilante like the Punisher into a schemer seemed like a weird choice, perhaps brought on by the low budget. Jane is solid in the lead, but Travolta sleepwalks through his part as the main villain. Will Patton delivers the goods though as his right-hand-man and at least the climax is pretty decent, bringing the merciless violence one would associate with the title character.
