I was at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, and bought what I thought was a piece of salmon. When I got home I realized that it's actually Steelhead, which is a trout. A Google search told me that they look alike, but have a different flavor.
I like rainbow trout, so I think I'll just cook it, stovetop, in a cast iron skillet, in butter with a bit of salt/pepper. I like garlic with salmon, but I don't think it would be good with rainbow trout. So, I think I'll omit the garlic, and have a squeeze of lemon standing by.
Does anyone know MORE about Steelhead ... and/or have recipes that have been successful?
I like most fish, so I don't think it will be any kind of disaster. I'll report back on this "experiment."
