Was Diana compassion and love, her optimism for mankind. Even her sympathy for those that caused harm (like sparing Dr Poison life).
The theme of the film was optimism and love and i appreciated that, especially in a Wonder Woman film. Its something i would like to see in the other films, not just CBM.
9/10. Hopefully Justice League ends up being this good.

Wasn't a big fan of the Vilians, especially the treatment Ares gotten.

I loved many things about the movie...but you are right, her love and compassion are what make her stand out among her fellow super heroes. You see it the moment she arrives in London and sees that baby. Yeah it's a humorous scene...but it also shows what kind of person she really is. And the speech she gives right before No Man's Land...brilliant. Such a fine movie!

I still love how much misandry the Amazonian bitches preached. I mean, they even have books telling WW that the only thing good about sex with men is reproduction. You can't get anymore regressive than that.

I was afraid they were going to try so hard to make her badass that they make her into some kind of cold, roided-out female terminator. It's nice to see them balance out her badassery with a softer, more humane side.

You can't get anymore regressive than that. Did they preach Misandry? They didn't trust men, yes, but i didn't see as hatred. Also their homeland was attacked by men, so their anger was just. As for the sex thing, it didn't bother me. In fact i was wondering how many guys got offended over it.

And the following scene were she just utterly destroys those german soldiers, made me love her even more! To quote Sameer: I am frightened and at the same time Aroused!

Agreed. A lot of comic book movies have a hard time actually sticking to their roots of their hero, but Jenkins and Gadot did it to the spades! Ares was the weakest part of the film for me though. I was expecting a villain like him and his performance (since he's essentially Ares's arch enemy) to be something akin to Zod from Man of Steel. Zod is still the DCEU best villain yet

I say Faora is still alive and just stuck in the Phantom Zone and Darkseid breaks her out and we have an epic fight between her and Wonder Woman for a future Justice League film!

A big reason, yes. I did enjoy the cast, including the actor that played Charlie. I liked the action scenes, especially no man's land and I thought it was directed well.

Yes so much compassion. Killing soldiers while you could have avoided that so easily by taking a shorter and safer route. Which was also more secret. All so they can create a so called epic scene in no mans land pissing on the graves of the millions who died there. WW is poorly written weak CBM full of plotholes which got an easy pass by the critics because it was made by a woman and heroes a woman.

Soldiers die in war, it's unfortunate and a horrible thing, but it happens. I had no problem with Diana fighting and killing in a Warzone, especially since innocent people were being targeted. Yeah she did let her emotions get to her and she did things that may be questionable but I still admire her passion and her having faults make her reliable. I don't want a perfect hero, because perfect people don't exist, none of us are perfect, so why should we expect our heroes to be?

From a writing angle, WW as a naive, good and (over-)poweful character always entails the risk that she is written as an god-mode, attention-centering, better-than-everybody Mary Sue type.
That did not happen with this film, and this is a great testament to the writing. WW did not have the universe bend around her to glorify her (as Mary Sue/Gerry Stu writing usually does). No, she had to realize in the end she was wrong about things (human nature), and was wrong all along and she failed terribly e.g., with the village massacred.
To summarize, best naive message and character development dialogue writing in a B-movie since long:

She didnt need to cross No Mans Land. So my conclusion is that the main three heroes of the DCEU are all killers. Nice franchise.
