I'd like to see him break out of his comfort zone a bit. Me too. I think he has more potential that's not been tapped into yet. I saw a little bit of it in "Halloween" perhaps not use the same actors/actresses and his wife as the lead?

Rejects was the shit, I was one of the few that thought Halloween was great, if only to see the behind the scenes early life of Michael.

Devils Rejects is still my favourite, but I also like his Halloween films and Lords of Salem is awesome. 31 was a bit disappointing.

1. Devil's Rejects - 9/10 2. House of 1,000 Corpses - 7/10
That's it. Those are the only two I rate above 5/10.

I'd like to see him break out of his comfort zone a bit. I feel like he did that with The Lords of Salem. All of his other films were like slashers, but Lords was more psychological and makes you think. I'm generally not a big fan of those types of movies (as I prefer the slashers), but visually I thought he did a good job with it. The Lords track was pretty creepy too. My favorite Rob Zombie movies from most favorite to least favorite: The Devil's Rejects Halloween Halloween II House of 1000 Corpses 31 The Lords of Salem

I like "The Devil's Rejects", "House of 1000 Corpses", and "The Lords of Salem". His "Halloween" films, not so much. I haven't seen "31" yet.

Each of his movies are almost always worse than the one before. Except for 31 which sucked but not nearly as much as Lords of Salem.
House of 1000 Corpses was his only really good movie. Devil's Rejects was average, Halloween was an abortion. Halloween 2 was an abortion someone forgot to clean up and had started to smell. Lords of Salem was that same abortion a few days later once the maggots show up and 31 was basically back to just fresh abortion status. So I guess congrats to him on improvement? Though to be fair it would have been more of a challenge to keep getting worse.

Rob's problem is that he has not tried anything new, & his films are more akin to remakes (or "homage" as some would say), without adding a new perspective. But I tried not to judge for a long time, because his first attempts at making a film were rough but showed potential, IF he tried to learn from his mistakes.
Some film makers use their first projects to get a feel for the craft & also learn a few things along the way, & then evolve the craft to fit their own unique perspective. Rob has nothing real to contribute (& his music is even worse then ever).
At this point, it's ssdd, & he is just keeping up appearances.

My top 3 films directed by Rob Zombie "Devils Rejects" "Halloween" (2007) "31" thoughts? Love House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects. H1 and H2 are vastly underrated - could have been gems if not for the miscasting of Laurie Strode and the way Zombie wrote her character.

The slutty friend was great, and the characters 'felt' like they could have belonged in the 1970s or 1980s except Laurie. Maybe that was the point? Like she didn't fit in with the world she was surrounded in? But I don't like her as the lead. I would have gone with a different choice.

I've been a huge fan of his music since I was a kid (especially when he was in White Zombie) and loved House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. I hate all his other movies though, especially his awful take on Halloween.
