Yeah, I saw his comments on the 1960s thread. In neither thread did he provide a list himself, but he was quick to criticize you for not including his favorites. What's funny is that I partially agree with him. I would include more Hammer films, as those are more my style. But that's me and not you. You tend to prefer a more real-life, grounded, psychologically based horror film than I do, and that's cool. You and I both have come to realize that we have different tastes in films. What I find interesting is that our differences have actually formed the basis of a friendship rather than causing a rift. We respect each other's point of view, even if we don't share it. Of course, except for maybe a few playful quips over Creature from the Black Lagoon, I don't think I ever criticized you for having a different taste in films. Nor you I. Well funny indeed as I actually had to agree most of time with him when I joined this place. He had positive threads about The Innocents and several other movies I do like. Sharing a dislike for Blair Witch Project as well, I thought first too good to be true but yeah things turned nasty. Oh well I have put him on ignore and I guess he did the same to me. I dunno if I prefer as you describe "real-life, grounded, psychologically based horror" . I always loved fantasy and since last year really started to love old sci-fi horror a lot. I think I like films in all horror subgenres even in my less favored genres such as slasher and comedy and splatter. I'm a big HG Lewis fan. I don't care if they are seen as garbage. They are in no way great or brilliant but I love them as they work out greatly for me and do what a movie needs to do in the first place, entertain me. I think only found footage can't really interest me, as far as that can be seen as a subgenre.

I wasn't taking others into consideration. Sorry about that.

You tend to prefer a more real-life, grounded, psychologically based horror film than I do, and that's cool. Wow. Do you really think "The Gruesome Twosome" is a prime example of a "more real-life, grounded, psychologically based horror film?"

Do you really think "The Gruesome Twosome" is a prime example of a "more real-life, grounded, psychologically based horror film?" No, it was a mistake. You must have missed my post where I admitted that I had mischaracterized his preferences. I was only thinking of certain films, not the entire package.

Some great lists. Instead of making a list that would repeat most of what's already here, I'll throw out a few I haven't seen mentioned yet. I apologize in advance if I repeat something.

The 70's had some very good horror. Most of my horror collection is from the 70's.
