We have had 2 weeks of 50 and 60 degree temps and all of the snow has melted. Tonight and tomorrow we are predicted to get 18 inches of snow. There be white out blizzard conditions.
I blame global warming.

Yeah, it's been in the Mid-60s here in Indiana the last few days. It should be in the lower 40s. Tomorrow (Friday) we are supposed to reach a high of 69 degrees. Then I guess a front with thunderstorms goes through tomorrow night. Saturday we will only see a high of 38 degrees.
Crazy weather!

Earlier when I was vaguely paying attention to the Weather Channel they were showing spring-type temperature readings and then were talking about a blizzard. I was confused
I never hear anyone talking about all this oil humans are pumping out of the earth at high rates (higher rates than usual in recent years, considering there was an oil glut?) and how it may pertain to climate and other things. I found some topics about that on the net, but I've been waiting for years for this subject to be more commonly discussed. It doesn't fit political narratives, apparently. I keep saying maybe that oil is inside Earth for a reason.

I don't have a definitive answer, but the weather has most definitely become unusual. Here in Iowa there is a blizzard, a wintery mix, thunderstorms, and a chance of tornadoes. All in the same night in the same medium size state. Never in my considerable years have I seen that.

We had almost no winter last year here in western NY. But we had snow on the ground at the end of February. We have had more cold this year. But the ground is bare. And low 60's for temperature is very surreal. T^wo years in a row with a winter that would be more appropriate for western Texas than western NY.
Two years ago we got 70 inches in 24 hours. I'm fine with this!

I'm fine with this! That lake effect snow can dump on you guys. Here 18 inches of snow in a blizzard is a considerable problem. Schools are already closed for tomorrow, games postponed and services cancelled. I was in the local DG and they said they will likely be closed. They have been here for 17 years have been open every day with the exception of Christmas Day.

In the 2014 "Big One", our house ended up with 71 inches, by my little weather station. My wife was working in Buffalo downtown, eight miles away. They got seven inches. My sister lives 15 miles north of downtown and she never saw a flake. Lake effect comes off the lake in narrow bands. If you are ine the band, you are screwed. But even 18 inches at one time is bad. I think we are just used it it.

62 degrees yesterday, tonight a blizzard....that's exactly what we had in New York about two weeks ago. Was mid-60s and then a day later, wham, 18 inches of snow, schools closed for two days. Where the heck are you from that you share the same weather as New York's?

Strangest blizzard I have ever seen. We had "thunder snow" for a continuous 3 hours. Thunder and lightning galore. It seemed that if you were to step outside it would be 80 degrees, humid, and raining.

Thanks. Both the National Weather Service and many local stations have said that travel has become very dangerous to nearly impossible, travel is not advised. They are advising that everyone stay home and wait out the storm.
Luckily we were given sufficient warning . I stocked up and have everything I need. I'm not going anywhere.
