Some people like me come to IMDB for that feature. It would be great if something like that is put up here. It may be hard to recreate IMDB's individual boards, but according to this thread there is a workaround. We can create something like 2010-2019 Films, 2000-2009 Films, 1990-1999 Film... and so on, and let people insert their movies for discussions.

If you really want a dedicated forum for, let us say, the Star Wars franchise...
You can create your own website/forum through ProBoards or FreeForums and have it look much like IMDb v2.0, except without all the other movies and such.
It would be easier to navigate, and it might find a better a better fanbase since it would be focused on one "topic", rather than thousands...
You could always link such websites to this one...

Which is the very reason this forum should not be called "IMDB2", when there is no movie database here at all.
The appeal of IMDB message boards was the "database" aspect where each of the several million titles had its own board. Describing this new forum as a "clone" was the first mistake, and then calling it IMDB2 was the second mistake.
Hey, maybe I should go to ProBoards, click on "make free board" and call it "IMDB3" then advertise my new board on this old outdated IMDB2 board?

While we don't mimic IMDb in look, we are setting up a system for individual movie boards. In the last few days we've added 1500 movie title message boards, and are working on adding 1000's more daily. Right now we have a board for most movies made after 2011, and are working backwards until we have the most movie boards on the internet

A person could request a message board for a movie and the admins might do it if enough people wanted it.
But imo no site is going to have a message board for every film, TV series, actor and film maker again. Some sites are trying and are making promises but I don't think that the vast number of old IMDb boards will happen on a new site.
As for information on site pages about movies/TV, the old IMDb will keep the fim/TV database and allow reviews. - This site allows for message boards which are under the limited headings that IMDb had before the year 2000. (I know. I was there.)

I wonder if that is really needed anyway. If you wanted to you could start a thread for a movie and then all related discussions go in there. I see these boards as discussion forums, if you wanted info on a film or an actor you could use Wikipedia.
