At one point (months ago), the total number of members was around 3,000. A few weeks ago it was around 2,300. As of today, the forum only has 1,579 members. How and why did this happen?

I've been wondering about the loss of members too... I thought some of them might have been deleted because people had more than one membership, but 1500 is quite a lot of multiple accounts to completely explain it... Perhaps there was a purge on ZERO post count members perhaps? I find these deletions sad to see. Hopefully the Admin can explain what happened to half of our members.

I hope the number grows. I wonder where everyone is going? I checked out other forums but this place is the best, imo. I understand that it will never be exactly like the first IMDb, but all I all, that's not a bad thing.

well, lets be honest, compared to O-Imdb, there is basically not much to do. There is no separate board for each and every show/movie [it's okay, I understand, it would be just too much]. I really miss that about o-imdb. whenever I would watch a movie on lifetime [for example] I like to go on O-imdb and caustic comment on what moronic character is doing whatever asinine thing.

This place is great, and the ratio of quality users is way higher than IMDB

It's too bad. This is nice. I was a member on Everyone's a Critic (EaC) until it was finally shut down due to poor maintenance which fucking Turkish hackers finished the job. That was an awesome site.

I purged inactive accounts. Well on other sites that I joined including IMDb , but because of other commitments didn't post for a number of years , and it could happen here too , where my account was deleted . If I get very busy soon , and wouldn't want the worry that my account will be deleted here ? I like to come back to relax and enjoy my old posts - it helps me get back into the old groove of it all , Admin ! I thought about routinely purging accounts that were inactive for X amount of time, but then changed my mind. The first purge was really just to clean out all the accounts that were created the day this forum went live after I spammed the link on IMDb. There were far too many who just registered and never came back and all those "0 posts, Last Login Feb 4" were bugging me. lol TL;DR: Your account will be here when you come back.
