I read about this book in Vietnam magazine. This is one of the guys selected for Project 100,000, where the army lowered IQ test scores to recruit more men for the Vietnam war, and they ranged from just being a few points off, to being completely borderline 'retarded' and couldn't read, write, tie their shoes, make their beds, pass basic training, etc. But this story is told from the perspective of a man who was originally disqualified for being a few points short, and having a bad back, then suddenly the military wanted him. He had shrapnel shot into his body, he was exposed to Agent Orange, and he had to fight the military for over 2 decades to get the benefits owed him. In his case, he makes a shining example of what a so called 'moron' is really capable of doing. Everybody needs to read this man's story.
