As Logan approaches its release a week from today, the world is shaking in anticipation (as am I). But since Logan will be such an event, I'd like to look at a different movie that is being overshadowed by Jackman's final Wolverine go-around. Besides, we all know that Logan will be a home run. One week after Logan releases, Kong: Skull Island does the same. Kong has a stellar cast and an up-and-coming kind of director. The action, as well, looks very well done and at the very least entertaining.
However, what are your expectations for Kong: Skull Island? Do you think it will be a fun action movie (like Jurassic Park) or more of a serious action epic (like Godzilla)? Do you think the performances will be good? The directing? Anyway, I already asked something like this on the good ol' IMDb Message Boards, so I'm sorry if you're getting tired of me.
Lastly, give some kind of Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes prediction. The critics aren't always right, but they can be on some occasions.

I think it will be somewhere in the middle of what Jurrasic World and Godzilla were. I'm betting it will be fun action with some serious and intense elements to it.
The cast is great so performances should be good. Just from the clips released so far the acting looks great.
Everything we have seen so far looks incredible. Vogt-Roberts has a great eye and all of his shots are bursting with style and color. The monsters look great as do the environments.
I'm thinking a 65 on Metacritic and around an 80-85% on Rotten Tomatoes. I hope people are surprised by a fun, action packed monster flick.

As far as rotten tomato meter, I use the method of using both Critic Score and User Score.
High Critic score and Low User Score = artsy film. usually pretentious High Critic score and High User Score = pleasing film that mostly good Low Critic score and High User Score = Popcorn film that can be generally bad - good Low Critic score and Low User Score = something that Adam Sandler made
There are always exceptions to the rules though.
Has Warner Brothers set a date to lift the review embargo? The closer we get to the release date without a review, the more I think it will stink. I know people have seen this, just not allowed to release their reviews yet.

As long as it outclasses the 2005 Peter Jackson film I'll be happy.

I expect a GIANT ape. Hopefully slugging it out with other GIGANTIC creatures and maybe eating Samuel l Jackson as a bonus.
