When we're introduced to them, we know without fail that Bond will conveniently get into a scenario which just so happens to need their use. Then once they're used once, that's usually it (worst example - the gun only he could fire). I know they're an iconic part of the franchise but something about them just leaves me cold.

I like the gadgets. But EON did go too far several times just to have a cool scene. Like the jet pack in Thunderball for example.

Gadgets are cool, but I do sympathize with and even share a bit in your irritation.

Gadgets can be decent here and there but i think they worked better in the past than they do now and i think it's partially because of modern technology making it harder to be impressed by them etc.
so while gadgets can be nice in a little amounts (i prefer a bit more realistic things, or those close enough to that standard) i would rather not go back to that more over-the-top stuff like remote controlled cars etc as that just does not work in more serious Bond movies like the Craig era to date which i think are the overall most consistent in quality from Bond movie to Bond movie.
