After 20 years I found the answer!

Before IMDB had message boards, they had "ask the experts". My wife at the time (actually, I think this may have been before we were married) wanted to know the name of a Christmas movie. Her description was something like, "It was live action and there was a character that looked like Jiminy Cricket and at the end the children saved Christmas by bringing Santa their penneys." No one was able to give the answer. When the boards began that question was probably about the 10th post. Again, no one was able to come up with an answer that satisfied her. When she passed away a dozen years ago, I figured I would never find out the answer to her question.
Fortunately, I am a fan of MST3K. As soon as the movie "The Christmas that Almost Wasn't" began and it was revealed that santa owed rent to the villain, I thought, "This might be it!" Then when the lawyer was introduced, I could see how someone might think he looked like Jiminy Cricket and I thought, "I bet this is it!" Then when the kids brought all their money to Santa to pay the rent - well, I was sure that was the movie she had inquired about.
I'm so elated to have finally found the answer that I thought perhaps a few of the "old timers" at IMDB might have made their way over here and could share in my joy!
