In Spider-Man 2, Harry Osborne tells Doc Ock that he will give him the thing he needs for his invention if he brings Spidey, alive, to him. Doc Ock then kidnaps Mary Jane to lure Spidey to him. He ends up fighting Spidey on top of a train, and ruins the control panel so that the brakes don't work, leaving the passengers in danger of falling into the sea when the train reaches the end of the track. Then Doc Ock leaves Spidey and the passengers. Why? Wasn't the plan for Doc Ock to bring Spidey to Harry alive? Sure, Spidey stops the train, but it was a close shave, and Doc Ock had no way of knowing that Spidey would be able to save the passengers. A smarter villain would have just immediately taken Spidey to Harry, and left the passengers to die with no hope.
Now I know the technical explanation for this is that Spidey can't fail to save a whole group of people during the climax of the movie, so I can forgive this plot hole. But it still doesn't change the fact that it's a plot hole.

(puke)star wars... so that storm trooper who hit his head... was he ever seen to? what the shi7 is with those two lowly men on that ledge when the beam zapping Alderan? are they exposed to outer space? how can that beam's power get passed the whatever force field protecting those two dudes? and... as Blue Harvest/Family Guy says... no railing? so, the last we saw leia before the door to her cell slammed shut and that black clad minion stomps down the gangway, she is apparently being or going to be tortured by this little orb with a syringe sticking out of it... so where the hell is the torture marks or whatever? [for the longest time I thought the syringe held poison that would instantly kill leia when she fell asleep] (puke)Batman forever... Dr Chase Meridian [what a dumb name] are we supposed to believe that this character is smart enough to become a doctor? this woman is like a 14 year old girl! and a stupid 14 year girl at that! (puke)Batman and Robin... apparently ambient light does not exist in Gotham City? what the hell is with the star labs type ginormous telescope in the city? aw hell, I could go on but I am getting a nose bleed.

Star Trek Beyond: how the hell did Krall get all those starfleet ship logs, data files, etc? Oh and how did he know that Uhura and Sulu were sending a distress call to yorktown? Oh and how did Uhura just convinently find out that Krall was Balthazar Edison ? Made no sense. But other than that I still enjoyed Star Trek Beyond.

Final Destination 3 - Part of the reason the rollercoaster derails is because a passenger drops a camera onto the rails. So after there is the premonition that the accident happens a number of the passenger don't take the ride and avoid being killed in the crash. But one of those that misses the ride is the guy that drops the camera!

Jurassic Park - why is there suddenly a cliff where the T-Rex just walked out of?
The Lost World: Jurassic Park - how did the T-Rex eat the crew members inside the ship's bridge?
Back To The Future - Marty's siblings start fading from existence one body part at a time as seen in his photograph, so was Dave walking around taking pictures without a head?
Back To The Future Part 3 - why does an ancestor on Marty's dad's side of the family look like Marty's mother?

Star Trek Beyond: how the hell did Krall get all those starfleet ship logs, data files, etc? They explained that. He captured some of the probes Yorktown sent into the nebula and then used their comm link back to the station to hack their computers and download data from the station.

"Citizen Kane": the whole plot revolves around Kane's dying word "Rosebud" but he dies alone so how does anyone know what he said? It's explained later in the film that his butler was in the room

John Carpenter has form when it comes to plot holes; in "The Fog" Janet Leigh's character inexplicably disappears in "Ghosts of Mars" Joanna Cassidy's character inexplicably disappears in "Christine" Harry Dean Stanton's character inexplicably disappears (although to be fair he returns briefly near the end. I thought the way it went, she was supposed to have gotten caught in the crowd of the infected Martianized humans. I loved her character though. The balloon she made to escape in was awesome.

I have insomnia and am bored. Amuse me. It would amuse me greatly if you named some really huge plot holes. Well in Passengers the couple who are awake fly by a red giant star and the ship's voice announces it as it flies by. But why? They were all supposed to be asleep. Unless the ship knew to announce it in case anyone was up.

Some suggest that MCU & Star Wars could collide years (& years) down the road.
Spiderman called out ESB during Civil War's melee. Soo yeah, no.

Something which struck me as odd about "Passengers": if the crew and passengers are going to be asleep for most of the journey, why do they need all the luxurious features built into their spaceship?

Same here. I thought what a waste it is if they were going to be asleep the entire time except for the last four months. In the movie it's stated by the leading lady character that they spent a quadrillion on the ship. A number she states as to the size of how much money and that it's 8 million billions.

In addition, if the colony they're headed to is anything like the colonies portrayed in other SF outings, like Firefly, Millennium, etc., it's unlikely to come with all mod cons and be more like Deadwood. Perhaps the idea is they get four months of Sybaritic indulgence and are then dropped into the Dark Ages.

In Back to the Future II, Marty throws a hissy fit if anyone calls him "chicken". This is done as if it has always been his reaction BUT there is no such schtick in BttF.
Plot hole ? Not a plot hole ?

Like they would be the pioneers of whatever colony was being built or rather, to be built on the new planet. Also this company doesn't seem concerned that life might already exist on said planet and their passengers might well be seen as intruders.

Any competent SF writer would point all this out immediately but Hollywood thinking being what it is, he would probably be politely shown the door just as quickly. This is why most big budget SF movies suck. The fact that Hollywood also uses the term "sci-fi" also shows the contempt in which they hold science fiction.

They think they can make these movies "fun" but they always show the pompous bore these so-called writers are. It's escapism. To me. I don't really go to movies anymore to be anything more than entertained. And it's waning. I seek the old and the ancient stories; the only substance nowadays.
