Talk about making the most out of your screen time. She's already wiser than all but a handful of characters. Jon should make her his hand immediately.

First time when she humiliated Sansa she looked so authoritative. Same when she gave the speech on the day Jon was crowned. They just have to be careful though that she does not become repetitive. As for hand, Ser Davos is the rightful person deserving of that in my personal opinion. But I am surprised they didn't make him till now. Or perhaps the "King of Winter" has no concept of having a Hand.

What little we've seen of her, she's great. She sure is a straight shooter. She's down right ferocious.

Lyanna Mormont has been good, but enough now. Every time we've seen her, she's been humiliating some northern lord 6 times her age, or putting someone in their place. They need to have her do something else so she doesn't become a one-note character.

Lyanna's pretty high on my list of "at risk" characters. She's become somewhat of a fan favorite, yet she's not really important enough to have any kind of plot armor. I mean, some of the major characters will die, but probably not until the season finale. Lyanna's one of those who get offed at any moment without any major plot repercussions. Others on my list included the Sand Snakes and two of those just bit it.

But Ser Davos is the one who is coming with him to Dragonstone...that's says something...and it was him, Sansa and Jon discussing the messages and what to do with them. Mormont is smart, but too young, and it was Davos you charged the attack and saved Jon's live (for a second time). Winter has come, and Jon needs a battle commander, and Davos is the man. But he is more...wise and decent.

I don't think the North has Hand of the King and prefer advisers with the final decision being the king.
if the king can't carry out the duties temporarily, then they appoint someone to take care of it like Jon did with Sansa and sorta what Robb did with Bran when he went off to war.
So someone becomes Hand at particular points in time rather than all the time.
