A number of posters who were on the classic board when I was a regular had already left or were a lot less prolific by the end. I myself had already gravitated to the sports board.
A few already mentioned such as Addison De Witt, ishallwearpurple, sol, BigKingTut and clore.
RobT-2 ali-112 Kambei Shimada (Joseph Gillis?) Johnny Guitar salmau Hal-9000 spinninginvertigo
The guy from Minnesota who ran the what classics did you watch last week threads. The guy from Baltimore(?) who was a theatre director. The serious Asian guy from New York. The guy who was a librarian(?) who loved the show Firefly.

Why not invite them over here. I did over a year ago, but they seem settled in there. I believe at least one poster operates there and here.

I intend to keep on keepin' on. The connection there finally asked me to relocate, so I decided to just stay here. I like imdb2. Hope you hang around.

Someone claiming to be Cliff Richard posted on Music General.

Anyone remember who it was on the What Movies Did You Watch This Week thread who would arrange his titles so that they made a funny sentence ? If I asked this before .. sorry.. blame it on the hour !
Always seem to be "guests" who just read and have never joined the new board. Perhaps some of them are IMDb regulars. If so, guys'n'gals !

By the way, I mentioned this site to Addison many months ago and he said he had no interest in joining up.

By the way, I mentioned this site to Addison many months ago and he said he had no interest in joining up. Neither is Clore. I ran it by him a long while back. There are people he doesn't like from the old boards here.

Can anyone join or do you have to be invited by a member ? Those polls were great fun … I didn't discover them until the final few but enjoyed them !

An older chap from Chicago named "Racoombs". He disappeared long ago. Maybe already mentioned. I think I mentioned Rac a while back. Cantankerous old guy. He was delivering newspapers as a kid in "back of the yards" Chicago when Herbert Hoover was in the White House! Do the math. I doubt he's still among the living. When he was good he was brilliant, so much so I suspected that he was or had been a professional writer. I tried to maintain good working relationships on the old boards with Racoombs and another old guy (as in likely over eighty), Lawrie, who also went by another name. LC? Something like that. He was either upper Midwest or Canadian. In other words, same neck of the woods as Rac. Those two were pals at first, then had a bitter, flaming, hateful grudge match of a falling out that was painful to read. The Rac startling belittling Lawrie, using his other name and calling him "Elsie". I remember PM'ing with Clore over this and he suggested that Racoombs was possibly suffering from early stage dementia of some kind, resorting to babytalk, as he called it; and maybe so. Rac remained civil with me, Lawrie always regarded me as a pal. Those were sometimes not so fun times, yet it was exciting all the same, fun to just log in and see what was up. It was like a corner bar, with classic film rather than baseball the main topic of discussion.

I believe that was the initials of his real name. Spinningvertigo began as a teenager. He must be well into his thirties now! Such a smart kid; and he knew the classics, mastered the details; the studio system, directors, producers; everything. Hal was there me, I believe. Salmau. That name's a blast from the past. Ali. Brit, I believe. London? I think so.
