It would be awesome if somehow Putin could be deposed and someone vaguely interested in running Russia as an socialist democracy (and not gobbling up smaller border nations) came along. Fat chance, of course, he's got a (literal) death grip on that country's news as military. But the US and Russia could be *this close* to a really mutually beneficial relationship.

Russia under Vladimir Putin is another obstacle to globalization, and you'll just have to suffer it. Poor Cine.

Dude your need to feel like you're in deadly combat with shadowy NWO figures is deeeeeeep. I'd sure welcome a mutually beneficial relationship between the countries, though. They've got excess oil, we can help with renewable tech. Money goes both ways.

One thing Ada was right about was that when it comes to being kingpin arms dealer, the USA is number 1. Guess who is number 2...

The Russians were exercising their rights concerning the Open Skies agreement, a mutual agreement to send really obvious spy planes over certain areas. Its not like the Russians have satellites, or the US have black ops recon birds.... I think there's more to it than just Putin, just like Kim Jong Fatty, and every other tinpot dictator, their power extends only to the most loyal opportunists supporting them who are really running things. Russia is the biggest country. There's no way one man can have that tight a grip without lackeys who enjoy privilege and position. A little actual thought control helps, control of media, the people will believe what they are told. Throw in some national pride in there, you have absolute control.

I think you're just not very aware of what your views look like to people who aren't neo-conservative. America previously "deposed" Russia's sovereignty, to install Yeltsin. We've been doing the same through the Middle East, and encroaching on Russia's "smaller border nations" with NATO. It's unbelievable to many that we are trying to topple the secular Assad and replace him with ISIS. Russia intervened, or "interfered" as you might say, so our media drummed up the propaganda about Russia being homophobic and this and that (unlike our best friend Saudia Arabia?). We tried to rig an election in Ukraine to punish and weaken Russia, and when Russia rescued them, we seized the opportunity to portray them as the aggressors and enact sanctions. Now we blame them for hacking our election, ironically, still without any evidence, and people like you are saying things like, "Gee I'd really like to be friends with Russia but they aren't a Socialist Democracy". Where the heck does that come from? An all mainstream media diet is what it looks like. You talk about Putin having an iron grip. Then your idea of a trade deal looks like straight fascism. You say you want a good relationship, but I want a good relationship and I blame you for the sanctions that are preventing that.
