I saw this article today on what we missed out on in the new Friday the 13th reboot, and it made me curious to know what other people want in a new Friday film. I tried to include a lot of choices, but I left a few out just because the list was getting long. Please fill in the blanks in the comments.

Modern slashers are not very interesting to begin with so I'm not really dying for another Friday the 13th movie. However would one be made I'd prefer limited budget with 80s look, practical effects and Camp Crystal Lake setting with counselors or campers.
Reboot with some original touch (don't know what) would be better than another sequel since there's no way to just send Jason back to Crystal Lake after what happened in Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. Jason should be a mortal man and not a zombie or some evil spirit. However I wouldn't be against another non-Jason entry similar to A New Beginning.
In short, make it The House of the Devil of slasher movies. Return to Sleepaway Camp also got a lot of things right especially as far as visual style goes.

A sequel to or in the style of the 1980s films sound good.

I love slasher films and the Friday the 13th series in general. I know people say slashers aren't scary, and I would mostly agree. That's not what attracts me. What I love is the formula. College-aged kids perform some activity and are bumped off in creative ways until only a girl or guy is left to survive (or not). It's so simple, yet it's really hard to do perfectly. It's like music. Lots of popular songs share the same structure of verses and choruses, but the music making up that structure is very different. The viscera has to have the right elements to make the structure work.
My personal preference for a F13 sequel would be for it to just be a standalone sequel. A group of kids go to Crystal Lake and get killed by Jason. No backstory, no reboot, no retcon, no cutesy call-backs to previous films (other than a myth of Jason). Just another sequel. Oh, and it must be shot on film, not digital. Jason is analog; he doesn't look right on digital.
Beyond that, I would love to see a Burning-style Friday the 13th. Except for brief segments, the camp has never been open during a film. It would be cool to see campers deal with Jason rather than counselors.
I know people say they want something different, but I think that has always failed with this franchise. The same set-up with different kids has worked much better than attempts to be different.
I read some of the Nick Antosca script, and it looks good. It's a good balance of old and new. Too bad someone at the studio didn't like it.

Forget all the New Line Cinema flicks. And continue it after Jason takes Manhattan.

A winter setting would be awesome with a frozen Crystal Lake and snow everywhere. Maybe they defeat Jason by trapping him under the ice or stabbing him with an icicle haha. I'd love to see Tommy Jarvis return too.

Have it take place some time after Part 2. No father or mother nonsense. Camp Blood is Jason's yard those who trespass on his home or just plain disturb him get killed. Group of counsellors 8+ who want to party it up before the kids and have a few early show ups from some of the kids to ruin that plan. Have 5-6 of them killed and maybe one of the kids since most wouldn't expect them to take things that far. Brutal kills and as bloody as possible. Maybe have where Jason gets off on one or two of the kills. As much nudity as possible without turning into a soft porn. The key is some how KILL Jason off so there is no room for another sequel. So have the run time be a little longer than the standard 80-90 min flick.

I say either continue after the 2009 reboot or after Jason X in the original continuity. But don't reboot again.

I say either continue after the 2009 reboot or after Jason X in the original continuity. But don't reboot again. I think the only bit of continuity that requires considering is whether to make Jason a living person or continue with him as a kind of zombie. It's like the "young Elvis vs old Elvis" debate. Personally, I don't care which one a studio goes with. Either one is fine. If you make him a real person, I think you could make a sequel that could be set anytime after part 3 or after the reboot. It wouldn't make a difference. Just make a film with Jason killing people near Crystal Lake and not directly tie it to anything,
