Wow. For a few months there it looked like the DCEU might begetting its act together, but WB's just said "Fuck it, we're out." I look forward to all the DCEU fan's meltdowns over this.

That site had several videos running simultaneously so I didn't bother reading the story. I hate when videos start automatically especially when you can't find where the damn video is located.

This is starting to get confusing. I do have a feeling that Matt Reeves meant he just wants to do his version off Batman without adding any kind of JL members and set ups for anything DCEU besides a Batman set up. Which means I think this will still be part of the DCEU.

The fuck? I thought WB might've found a way to make good CBMs again with Wonder Woman and bring quality films to the DCEU, but now, I'm sure the heads at WB are like this right now:

What Reeves is saying is his Batman movie wont be a shitty movie like Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Tony Stark is in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, Iron Man rescues Spider-Man when Vulture dumps him in the water, Iron Man comes to the rescue on the ferry boat, Spider-Man uses AI-type suits given to him by Tony Stark rather than using his Spider-Sense, and Spider-Man basically becomes a supporting character in his own movie.
Instead, the Batman movie will be more like Wonder Woman, a stand-alone movie that doesn't have to rely on cameos from characters in other movies but is still a part of the DCEU.

I get the feeling that's probably NOT what he meant to say.

You do know that being a part of cinematic universe means that other characters will appear in the title character's movie, right? I remember there was a Superman sequel that they shoehorned Batman and Wonder Woman into. Hell, I'd even say that Batman was the star of that Superman sequel. And... got his name before the supposed main character's name. Why not Superman v Batman?

If BvS was a sequel to MoS, then the next Superman movie would be titled MoS 3. But the next Superman movie is going to be titled MoS 2, so BvS wasn't a sequel to MoS.
As for other characters appearing in the title character's movie, the title of Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn't have Iron Man in the title, yet Tony Stark is the main character in SMH, appearing in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, rescuing Spider-Man after Vulture dumps him into the water, coming to the rescue again on the ferry boat, and giving Peter AI suits to use; while Spider-Man basically becomes a supporting character in his own movie.

I think they are trying the X-men approach now. Just make movies that are loosely connected and not care if the continuity is crap.

They are all sequels of Man of Steel. Just like all of the MCU are sequels of Iron Man. BvS is just the 1st direct sequel to MoS. The next "solo" Superman movie will not be called Man of Steel*. Just like there is no Batman Begins 2. *If there is going to be another solo Superman movie.

No, if they were all sequels of Iron Man, then Iron Man 2 (which came after The Incredible Hulk) would've been called Iron Man 3 instead of Iron Man 2. The Incredible Hulk as another MCU movie but wasn't a sequel to Iron Man, which is why Iron Man 2 is called Iron Man 2 instead of Iron Man 3.
Similarly, BvS, SS, and WW are movies in DCEU but not sequels to MoS, which is why the next Superman movie is going to be called MoS and not MoS 3.

Zack Snyder actually called BvS Man of Steel 2 like.

You see that's why people don't get what a cinematic universe is and how to do it wrong. You think of them as individual franchises that link up when that is not the case. The MCU and the DCEU (supposedly) is the franchise. Iron Man and Man of Steel started their respective universes so every movie after it is a sequel to that movie. Calling it Incredible Hulk is because he is the point of view character for that movie. Iron Man 2 is because he is the point of view character for a second time. Just like even though Civil War had the Avengers in it, Captain America was the point of view character. The Avengers were collectively the point of view character. BvS had both Batman and Superman as the PoV. Suicide Squad had no one as the PoV. And yes BvS, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman were sequels to MoS. They all continued stories from those movies. Both BvS and Suicide Squad stemmed off of MoS. BvS was a direct continuation from MoS and Suicide Squad was created because of Superman showing himself and battling Zod in Metropolis and Waller wanted to control that (a super being). And Wonder Woman was a flash-backed continuation from BvS. Now if the movies merely took place in the DCEU and didn't have any ties (story-wise) to the movie previous to it then you can say it isn't a sequel.

This unfortunately mrans Justice League REALLY failed to impress. They might just want to scrap the movie and let Joss Whedon start it over completely.
