No, if they were all sequels of Iron Man, then Iron Man 2 (which came after The Incredible Hulk) would've been called Iron Man 3 instead of Iron Man 2. The Incredible Hulk as another MCU movie but wasn't a sequel to Iron Man, which is why Iron Man 2 is called Iron Man 2 instead of Iron Man 3.
Similarly, BvS, SS, and WW are movies in DCEU but not sequels to MoS, which is why the next Superman movie is going to be called MoS and not MoS 3.
Zack Snyder actually called BvS Man of Steel 2 like. It's because it is. BvS continues from where MoS left off. Man of Steel going to Batman v Superman is like Batman Begins going to The Dark Knight.

Yeah I have kind of lost faith in them now, for awhile there it looked like they were getting on track but just like my dad they have to do the exact opposite of what everyone is thinking. This unfortunately mrans Justice League REALLY failed to impress. They might just want to scrap the movie and let Joss Whedon start over from scrap. Meh, they'll make money from it. Hell, there is a Youtuber that just likes Superman and how Snyder makes the capes flap.

What Reeves is saying is his Batman movie wont be a shitty movie like Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Tony Stark is in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, Iron Man rescues Spider-Man when Vulture dumps him in the water, Iron Man comes to the rescue on the ferry boat, Spider-Man uses AI-type suits given to him by Tony Stark rather than using his Spider-Sense, and Spider-Man basically becomes a supporting character in his own movie.
Instead, the Batman movie will be more like Wonder Woman, a stand-alone movie that doesn't have to rely on cameos from characters in other movies but is still a part of the DCEU. So 10 minutes of another character is enough to ruin a film for you? Seriously, stop being such a thin skinned crybaby.

Yeah I heard Screen Junkies "break" this news this morning on their morning news show. They seemed to be quite confused by it and whether or not it was truly reliable or if the statement would be recanted by Reeves. In the end they figured this was Ben Affleck's way out of playing Batman and that they could be now shifting towards stand alone movies that stand on their own instead of having to fit everything together. Then they brought in a whole idea of how the DCEU or whatever deals in multiverses as somebody in WB or something said in regards to The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl shows being candid with the Justice League movies. So in the end, I guess Matt Reeves Batman films will be in another multiverse from this Justice League movie. Meaning that these won't be the same interpretations of Batman or the DCEU's Joker (if Joker is even in the film but I think you get what I'm saying).
In the end this is where I think they're going. If indeed we're getting a Flashpoint movie then is it possible that he screws up the multiverse so much that Matt Reeves' Batman ends up in the Justice League DCEU timeline and erasing/replacing Benn Affleck's Batman for possible sequels? I'm spit balling here but does that even remotely make sense as a possibility?

WB should cancel their cinematic universe, and make standalone movies, like they done it before.

Matt Reeves still confirmed Batfleck while promoting Apes.....so clarification or confirmation should soon follow.

I think Warner Bros know exactly what they are doing and this is going to be awesome. Geoff Johns has said they are going to use more Bat Family members and the Bat Universe is not just going to be about Batman anymore (which it hasn't been for decades) and for the first time the movies are going to FINALLY mirror the comic books. The Batman will be the start of the Bat Universe which will followed by movies of Batgirl, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Birds of Prey, Titans, Batwoman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Deathstroke, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Huntress, Catwoman, Raven, Starfire, Batman Beyond, Secret Six, We Are Robin, Gotham Academy etc. The Bat Universe is HUGE and many superheroes are connected to it. The Bat Family itself is at least 50 percent of DC so it would make sense to have it separate and Geoff specifically referred to it as the Bat Universe at the SDCC and not DCEU when he was talking about the Bat Family. With Matt saying he has plans for a trilogy and Robin being confirmed for 'Batgirl' (which will most likely be Tim Drake/Red Robin) they can debut the Spoiler in 'The Batman' followed by Orphan, Batwoman, Red Hood and Bluebird in the next two movies followed by Hawkfire/Flamebird in the 'Batwoman' solo movie (Kate's cousin and sidekick) and Green Arrow in 'Birds of Prey.'

DC just don't have a clue whatsoever what they're doing.
Four movies, only one of them has been good and they still haven't signed Jenkins up yet for the sequel because of money.
The Flash is having all sorts of problems with directors and delays.
There's no announcement of another Superman movie or a Green Lantern movie...but there's been an announcement for a Harley Quinn movie and now also a Joker and Harley Quinn movie....what?
Now they've announced these standalone DC movies.
They got a top notch director for The Batman and that'snot gonna be part of the DCEU? What the hell are they playing at. It's not that complicated.

I read that the Bat family alone sells more than Marvel put together, thus the source materials to build on should be there for the Bat Family Universe (BFU) - maybe a better name could be found though.

That's right. With the combined sales of all the members the Bat Family is the biggest selling entity in comic book history and has higher all time sales than all of the Avengers combined including Spider-Man. Dick Grayson (as Nightwing/Robin and Grayson) has higher sales than the majority of the Avengers and the Justice League which is why so many fans have long been waiting for a Nightwing movie and were disappointed Dick and Barbara were nowhere to be found in the Christopher Nolan movies. I am looking forward to the new Bat Universe far more than the Nolan movies 'cause while it is no secret I didn't like those movies for not including the Bat Family members in them I think making them 'grounded' and 'realistic' was a HUGE mistake 'cause it made it impossible to include a lot of Batman's most popular villains like Clayface, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Solomon Grundy, Man Bat, Firefly, Killer Moth, Mad Hatter, Prometheus, Great White Shark etc. I also didn't like his versions of Bane and the Scarecrow. Bane is huge when he is on Venom and Titan and can throw Batman around with one hand and smash concrete with his fists and the Scarecrow was written to be like a Horror character and there was nothing scary about the guy we saw in 'Batman Begins.' This is the version of the Scarecrow I want to see.

Has anyone perhaps considered asking Matt Reeves on Twitter what he meant by his comment? If his Batman movie isn't supposed to be part of the DCEU, why would he drop that bit of information now?

Weird thing is, he didn't. He said it around a month ago in a podcast or something, but some site noticed now and all of a sudden it explodes.

Matt Reeves Clarifies Whether The Batman Solo Movie Fits Into The DCEU Once again, I was right. When all the dumb MCU fans here were jumping up and down celebrating thinking that The Batman movie wasn't going to be part of the DCEU, I explained to the dumb MCU fans that: What Reeves is saying is his Batman movie wont be a shitty movie like Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Tony Stark is in the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, Iron Man rescues Spider-Man when Vulture dumps him in the water, Iron Man comes to the rescue on the ferry boat, Spider-Man uses AI-type suits given to him by Tony Stark rather than using his Spider-Sense, and Spider-Man basically becomes a supporting character in his own movie.

What Reeves is saying is that he's too creatively bankrupt to think of a Batman story that could take place in a world of Superbeings while still focusing on Batman. Whereas Homecoming was able to do so with Spider-Man, Tony having a minor presence.
