Fun movie. It has kind of a low budget 80s b-movie feel to it, but I still liked it. The Stephen King story and the voice over narration was cool. And I confess to having a crush on Megan Follows back then.

I need to give this one a re-watch very soon, I usually like to see my werewolf 80s films at this time of year, and Silver Bullet I have not seen for a while, but I think I gave it a 7/10, the last time I saw it. Corey Haim did a great job and Gary Busey was as always one cool dude, and I agree with movielover above, Megan Follows sure was a cutie. Also enjoyed the score by Jay Chattaway, which came as a bit of a surprise as his work with William Lustig had a much more dark/unpleseant vibe over them, but this one was warm and full of life.

I always thought this was a special film, but the kind that relied more on "sections" than the whole.
The "hunt" section gone awry is extremely well done, and innovative, maybe not the very first such scene, but innovative in the way it develops.
I also liked it because I immediately guessed who the werewolf was. Don't know why. A hunch more than anything, but also a lot of little clues.
Also, the main characters were masterfully done, especially the lead.
Still, it is another in a long line of werewolf/wolfman movies that dominated the horror scene at the time. It seemed all the monsters for a fifteen year period were either wolf men or vampires.
It had some magic. Not total magic, but a good deal.
I agree it is my favorite werewolf movie, just over the Nicholson one. I don't rate werewolf movies very high, but this gets the high rating.
8/10 from me.

It's a fun, if messy, little movie...Might have been less choppy if there wasn't a director change mid way through production...Buy hey, it's got Everett McGill, which is always a plus... Favorite Werewolf movie still remains 'An American Werewolf in London', though...

I love the small town/semi-rural New England setting (Stephen King made me fall in love with the place), the narrative and Gary Busey. It's an occasionally creepy, feelgood 80s horror flick that ranks alongside An American Werewolf in London as the finest entry in the werewolf subgenre.

My Number 1 Favorite " WEREWOLF" Movie! What about everyone else here ? I feel that the werewolf genre is probably the weakest subgenre out there... My favourite is An American Werewolf in London, then dog soldiers, Gingersnaps, there isnt much beyond that... silver Bullet is pretty average at best .. which still probably places it in the top 20
