Besides the occasional cup of coffee, I haven't eaten anything from McDonald's in about 13 years or so.

At the moment I've avoided McDonald's for about 14-15 hours. Or in other words, that's what I had for dinner last night. I like fast food, but I also try to eat relatively healthy most of the time. I watch my weight, more or less follow nutrition guidelines, try to eat a wide variety of things, try to avoid too much of things that are thought to contribute to particular health problems, and try to eat more of stuff that is thought to help stave off or combat particular health problems. But I also think that a lot of distinctions we make don't really hold water. For example, I eat Trader Joe's stuff that's prepackaged--you just need to throw it in the oven briefly, or in a microwave or something. For example, I like their sag paneer a lot--that's an Indian spinach and cheese dish. I also like their chicken pot pies. Probably some people who are like, "Ew, I'd never eat at McDonald's" are fine eating Trader Joe's stuff like that. But is it really better than fast food? I don't think that's so clear. Maybe some people who are like "Ewww, McDonald's " are only eating locally-grown produce, locally-caught seafood, etc. . . . but I doubt that's the case for most folks. Also, how many people who are like "Ewww, McDonald's" are getting flavored and/or sweetened drinks from Starbucks a couple times a week or even daily? It's fine if you just don't like the food, but if the aversion is for health reasons, unless you're only eating locally grown/caught/harvested food, and you have a pretty good idea just what chemicals your local farmers might be spraying on their crops, a pretty good idea just what happens to the food from its genesis until it ends up at the local stand or market, there's a good chance that you're regularly eating stuff that's not any healthier than McDonald's.

I don't really avoid it. I would eat it once in a while. I'm still laughing at this guy who posted "I would rather risk food poisoning at Chipotles than to ever eat at McDonald's".

I just had it today. First time I had it in like 3 months.
When it comes to fast food I go Taco Bell and Arbys.

This is a solid post and one that properly points out misconceptions people have about "eating healthy." For me, personally, I eat seafood but no meat and I try to eat whole foods and, try as I might, avoid packaged foods or things with lots of ingredients. It's not a hard and and fast rule that I live by, I'll eat meat probably 10-12 times per year (usually at high-end NYC restaurants or being bombed at summer BBQs, can't resist that Italian hero) and sure I'll eat garbage now and again like anyone else. But no fast food, never. It's just low quality food with too much salt, preservatives and crap in it. But you raise a good point about the packaged foods at Trader Joes. They really aren't necessarily "healthier" than the fast food. They may be delicious and the ingredients themselves may be of a slightly higher quality (relatively speaking anyway) but it's still loaded with additives and crap to give it a longer shelf life. I avoid that stuff as well. And that's just my approach but every body is different. Basically, you can't go wrong with a moderation approach to food. If you eat fast food every day, yeah you're poisoning yourself. If you don't eat meat but you eat packaged sag paneer every day, probably not the healthiest choice. But once a week, you're probably fine so long as you keep things properly balanced. Also, fuck Starbucks. Starbucks is garbage. Their coffee is crap, they don't prepare it properly and those drinks you mentioned are loaded with sugar and other artificial shit that gives cancer to lab rats. Pass.

We have kosher McDonald's in Israel and I went to one after seeing Blade Runner 2049 in iMAX 3D.
I don't go to these often but they are conveniently located and most of them are kosher restaurants (the ones I've seen, anyway).

Wouldn't say I'm avoiding it, but I don't go to it often, even with their admittedly generous app. Though I have avoided the chicken nuggets since I saw Super Size Me.

For me, I largely avoid their lunch/dinner menu, save for a few rare exceptions infrequently(i.e. chicken nuggets, chicken selects(strips)). It's probably been a good while(1-2 years?) since I've ordered anything off their lunch/dinner menu, though I was thinking about trying the Buttermilk Chicken Tenders sometime. It was a huge bummer to me in terms of taste not being as good since, back whenever McDonald's decided to stop using beef tallow for their fries. I mostly go for their breakfast items, whenever I eat there. It was a HUGE blessing to me that McDonald's decided to serve virtually all their breakfast items all day(except bagels and steak sandwiches, but I can live with those items not being all day), since I used to dread being dragged to McD's after breakfast ended if I was with others. Now I don't dread those infrequent afternoon or evening times I'm dragged to McD's by others so much, anymore.
