Hi, mszanadu For better or worse, I’m mostly unfamiliar with Star Trek and completely unfamiliar with the franchise outside of the original series. Nevertheless, I’ve seen a few episodes, and they’re good, goofy fun (though I just can’t fathom for the life of me why so many people are so taken with them! Fun, but—ehh—that’s it for me. Then again, I’ve never really gotten into sci-fi): “The Cage” (pilot episode, without Shatner!) “Wolf in the Fold” “The Devil in the Dark” “The Return of the Archons” When I first saw Star Trek, I was rather surprised by how dull I found so many of the episodes, in spite of the over-the-top scenery-chewing of Shatner and the restrained stoicism of Nimoy. (My favorite character on the show has to be Bones, though—poor guy.) It simply has none of the surreal colors and Baroque plotting of, say, Batman, The Avengers, The Wild Wild West, and Gilligan’s Island, or the seriousness of purpose and intelligent writing of The Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents. (Two shows that seem to succeed at both elements, unusually enough: The Prisoner and Mission: Impossible. Also some early Avengers episodes.) And there’s so much that Star Trek’s concept could do, too—travelling from planet to planet and discovering unique, unusual cultures that could explored in depth! Ah, well… Still, as I wrote, it can be fun.

Ah, well… Still, as I wrote, it can be fun. Those are some excellent episode choices there Salzmank thanks so much for sharing these here too . I know I can't speak for everyone here on this but as a long time sci fi fan here the specific appeal of the " Star Trek Saga " for me is several different aspects of these beginning classic shows . Definitely the main & always changing side storylines , the unique set of characters or creatures , the "what if " or " could have been " possible settings of what the near future may look like , and all the technology that went along with it too ( for me it feels a bit educational as well as fun ! ) . I do agree other classic shows like - The Avengers & The Wild Wild West certainly had it's own unique appeal as well . As for " The Twilight Zone " that one is just in a wonderful class by itself and I believe we will never find a unique show quite like that one again . Also thanks so much for sharing your input on all of these shows too .

I'm very glad you enjoyed this as well . Thanks so much Tunaman09 for your reply . PS - Also you can still put on your list as many DS9 Episodes as you want here - if you want to of course - no limitations here either . I only chose " 4 or more " in case folks here wanted to put down more or less - either way it seemed less of an overwhelming number at the time I posted this too .

Must admit, I'm surprised to find the ep Twilight included by a few people, I don't recall that ep being any special - although I've not re-watched Enterprise.

I’m currently watching this episode, “The City on the Edge of Forever.” Enjoying it a lot so far, even though it doesn’t feel a thing like a Star Trek episode. Joan Collins is gorgeous in it. And seeing an insane Bones is hilarious.

Even though I have already given my Answers for All of the Other "STAR TREK" Shows, I unfortunately can't give even 1 Answer when it comes to "STAR TREK: DISCOVERY" mainly because I actually haven't watched all of it's current Episodes yet.

That's totally fine here anthonyrocks
you're certainly more ahead of me with this
" STAR TREK: DISCOVERY " TV Show
than I am here because I have never even watched it at all
( I guess I just stopped at the old school versions of the Star Trek Universe ? ) .
So no worries here really if you want to add these to
your list for later on you certainly can and of course no rush on this either .
Again thanks so much for all your awesome replies here too .
