Two country acts that my ex wife dragged me to in the 80's (names escape me). Why, I don't like C/W
Not the whole show, but Journey in Rich Stadium in Buffalo in 1981. George Thorogood opened and was fantastic. Before AOR radio overplayed his music to death. And the Stones were phenomenal. First on nine Stones shows. But Journey sucked. Listless. Rumor had it that the booked the Memorial Auditorium right around the date the Stones played and they just opened.

Vancouver WEEN show a few years ago that led (partially at least) to the band breaking up.
It was bad AND good.
Overall Gene was too wasted to play, but the band put on a set anyway then he got up off the stage after they all left and did a few acoustic songs while hammered.
My friend and I were on mushrooms, so that was the good part. We kind of thought it was all part of the show at the time.

I attend more classical concerts than any other. The worst concert was by a group that plays in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, mostly music of Bach and other baroque composers.
We heard Bach's concerto for two violins and one soloist was not up to par, being out of tune much of the time. The other soloist glared at her during the concert.
Classical music has such a small audience and there's so much competition for it that most performing musicians are technically competent, even if they're not world famous. The other soloist probably felt tainted to be associated with a bad musician. (Why wasn't this obvious from rehearsals?)
Ever since, we feel cautious buying tickets for smaller local groups so that we aren't "Berkshire Bached" again.

In terms of competence, Teenage Fanclub put on the worst show I ever saw by a major band. Still, it was a fun show. I'm sure the Fray played their set as competently as possible on the occasion I saw them as an opening act for Ben Folds, but I found their music unbelievably dull.
