Salladhor Saan. He was a great character, but only appeared in something like two scenes. Which eps cactus? I don't recall the name.

I didn't mean Leo's post in this particular topic but in past topics ( the comment is made in the books by GRRM). They did made him slightly different in the show than in Books but in fact they made him worse in the show than he was in the book. I agree that they made him just look angry/bitter in the show without showing why. However, how was Kevan bad in the books? His main focus was healing his family/the seven kingdoms and bringing peace. I don't think those are bad motives.

I got to give him credit for that. The one thing that goes against him is that he always lived in shadow of his brother.

Most of the characters in the series live in the shadow of Tywin Lannister. That's why all Tyrion or Jaime have to say is, "My father..." and people gulp/pull back out of fear. They know there's retribution for slighting House Lannister under Tywin. That also why when Tywin dies, Jaime tells Cersei that the Lannister enemies will wait to see his cold, lifeless body and then they would start making their moves against their house. Thinking about it...I don't remember Cersei ever using Tywin as a threat against others. She never had to utter "My father..." as her move. So far, she's the only Lannister to step out from under the shadow of Tywin. i.e. Repaying the Iron Bank back or her move with the Wildfire.

The last time we see him is in season 4 when Davos gives him a stash of gold coins. I'm hoping we'll get to see him again too.

It's also the curse of the second born son.
I think that once Tywin left, he stepped up to that role. The show version is was pretty much a yes man, but it also could be he was also instrumental in turning Tommen against his mother.
I'm not sure he is as quick to action but that also is a good thing.
The sad thing about him is he lost his whole family in the show (I think he still has a kid in the books although he's dead, so I guess it don't matter).

I hope the guy rots at the bottom of the sea. Well, at least he doesn't intend to rape her like good ol' Jaime, right? You forgot the next line of dialogue too where Davos' son says something like: Matthos: "Fuck her?! Like she would just let you!" and Salladhor replies with something like: Salladhor: "You don't know how persuasive I can be. I've never tried to fuck you..." He's a lover.

Underused as in appears but doesn't live up to their book characters...
Ser Barristan is at the top of my list. Doran Martell and Dolorous Edd would round out a top 3. Edd has had lots of screen time over the years but he's never captured his hilarity in the books. Doran was just brushed over along with all of Dorne.
There is a solid list of characters that are completely not used whose appearance wouldve been fantastic. Characters like Strong Belwas, Donal Noye and Garlan Tyrell wouldve added a lot more color even if they werent necessary to any plot.

I really got a kick out of Lyanna Mormont in season 6, I was hoping they'd do more with her this past season. But at this point everything is so rushed they don't have time to start building up newer characters.

I think the High Sparrow was mostly responsible for turning Tommen from his mother (Margaery did too towards the end). Kevan may have had a hand in the show, but they (Kevan/Tommen) shared no scenes together. Kevan didn't seem like he was involved in much of anything in the show. It's unfortunate and a big reason why I was disappointed of his screen time. He's a big threat/inhibitor to Cersei in the books. The show...not much other than giving her some criticism. Yeah, that's sad about him losing his family. At least he didn't have any knowledge of Lancel being killed, but he was definitely privy to his two boys dying (they were killed while imprisoned by the Starks).
