Who is your favourite 1950s TV mother? I like the mother in "Dennis the Menace", and the Molly Goldberg character in "The Goldbergs" (no relation to the modern show).
How about you? Who is your favourite 1950s TV mother?

Margaret Anderson on FATHER KNOWS BEST. I can't blame her or Jim for the fact that their kids were all losers!

I loved mrs Menace. er Mitchell. I loved I LUCY but not as a mother. entirely too convenient for her to be [what I call] forever away from your kid. srsly, did friends and Mad About You take notes from this show?

Margaret Anderson on FATHER KNOWS BEST. I can't blame her or Jim for the fact that their kids were all losers! Agree on the first part, not the second. Bud, Princess, and Kitten made mistakes, as their father did. But they were just realistic and learned from them, They were hardly losers.

Margaret Anderson (Jane Wyatt) - Father Knows Best. She was the most attractive, the best smile, and she had that accent.

Donna Stone was the best! Not only beautiful and kindly, she was a smart cookie, too.

Hmm. I always think of June Cleaver actually. But I'm sure there are more kid-friendly versions.

Sorry, but I don't believe that "Bud", "Princess" or "Kitten" ever learned from their mistakes--not for long, anyway. By the next episode, Betty was again a snob and drama queen, Bud was still a stupid jerk, and Kathy was still a brat. Of course, that was the fault of the writers, not the parents, LOL.

I still do not agree. The heart to heart talks Jim Anderson had with his children had an impact. Did not make them perfect, but better.
