this series was never that big, the last one wasn't that successful, and it will be nearly three years since the last, yet we get another installment?
it just feels that white male led films constantly get another chance no matter what

Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. I'm a big fan of the books and I've been waiting and waiting for The Death Cure to make its way onto the big screen.

I guess they wanna capitalize on being the only real Y/A film series left now that Hunger Games and Twilight are done as well as Divergent failing so miserably.

it just feels that white male led films constantly get another chance no matter what It was postponed due to a severe injury of the actor who played the main part. A third installment was always planned and in production, but they were forced to halt it. And of course: white led movies are always entitled to get the chance or preference over and over again, sucking up all resources for movies with other ethnicities. Wanne see a Black hero? Then it is Africa's job to produce such a film, like Japan or China does it for Asian heroes. The US and the West is - all together - less than 10% black: so why should white people subsidize the Black culture?! It's the job of the black community, not of white America or the white people of the Western world. Your propblem if you are less creative and industrial. Game of Thrones is a wonderful show with almost 100% white characters...only here and there some exotic characters but also refered as foreign and from far away, not linked with Westeros or Essos. Great!

Because they were relatively cheap to make and fairly popular. The first made 10 times it's budget, the second 5 times (and it cost nearly twice as much as the first). Personally I'd like to see a third film.

Personally I'd like to see a third film. At Sci-Fi have have very low standards...that low that I even like Critters IV (the one in the space station). I will watch it. This year has been awful. Ghost in the Shell, Arrival were the only good movies for me. I also liked the last intsallments of Resident Evil and Underworld. But else...for months no movie worth seeing.

Both films were profitable. The third one would have come out sooner, but the lead actor was injured on set so production was delayed. I think it's worth completing the trilogy.
