The story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her struggles for equal rights and what she had to overcome in order to become a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.
Felicity Jones is going to be Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Do you agree with the casting of the british actress Felicity Jones as Ruth Bader Ginsburg ?

Not my first choice. The fan favorite on pinterest is Natalie Portman apparently. What does anyone else think?

Now I'm thinking about it, someone like Rebecca Hall or if she was ten years younger, Olivia Williams.

Has anyone else seen it? I viewed On the Basis of Sex twice, deeming it "decent" the first time and "decent/pretty good" (or slightly above-average) the second time. The film is respectable visually, with graceful attention to color and some ironic compositions and montages, and it does not overreach—in other words, it does not attempt to cover the entirety of Ginsburg's life and career. Felicity Jones, meanwhile, is competent in the leading role, and there are quite a few colorful scenes. But the movie is arguably overloaded with dialogue, and most of it is unremarkable. Moreover, the film feels instructive more than inspirational. It perhaps needed less time developing the plot and its legal machinations and more time being introspective and cultivating character. Only in a few scenes, ones that involve Ginsburg's daughter, Jane (played by Cailee Spaeny), does the movie transcend its rather rote energy and offer something that feels emotionally authentic and spontaneous.
On the Basis of Sex almost appears to be copying the hustle-and-bustle of The Post, a "very good" film from last year, directed by Steven Spielberg. But The Post offered an exciting legal case, whereas On the Basis of Sex's legal case—while historically significant—is much more academic and less dynamic. Furthermore, The Post did find time and space to prove introspective and develop character, and it offered a superior cast led by Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep. On the Basis of Sex features a commendable cast, but it cannot match the combination of Hanks and Streep.
The mock trial and climactic real trial late in On the Basis of Sex are handled more than respectably, but again, in the end, one feels instructed more than inspired—even though one senses that the film definitely aimed to be inspirational. The banal pop-oriented song that plays over the closing credits, titled "Here Comes the Change" and co-written and performed by Kesha, is a case in point: it seeks inspiration yet fails to achieve it.

Boah...I was think of something like Fifty Shades of Grey only with Jennifer Lawrence or so...and then this, disgusting - Ruth Ginsburg. Bah... I feel like Mr. Deltoid and his glass of water...

Not my first choice. The fan favorite on pinterest is Natalie Portman apparently. What does anyone else think? The only woman coming close to her beauty is Golda Meir, but I fear she is unavailable and acting was not her sujet. Could also play Nixon in his final years.
