It was brilliant. I loved it. Parts that almost made me cry (I'm such a pussy): 1. Charles telling "Logan" that he remembers that he did something very bad. 2. Logan getting choked up after he buried Charles by that pond because it was as close to the water as he could get him. 3. Laura calling Logan "Daddy" before he succumbs to his injuries. It's comfortably in my top 5 superhero movies of all time.

When did she call him Daddy before? She didn't speak for 3/4 of the movie, and then she shouted at him in Spanish a few times. I don't remember her saying either "Daddy" or "Papa" before he was dying.

I'm assuming you're talking about X24. In any case, even if she said it before, that wasn't the point of my 3rd point in the OP. It was sad to see her crying about losing her father.

Look up Albert Wolverine and you'll see why I call him that. When he first appeared my first thought was, "Oh my God, that's Albert."

I really enjoyed it although i need another viewing. It's not perfect but it's a worthy film to celebrate Hugh Jackmans last film (maybe) in the X-franchise. Lot of people saying the villain was a letdown but I thought Boyd added a lot of charisma to make his character interesting enough and not reduced to a bland generic vilain, something which The Viper was in the last solo Wolverine outing.
I felt very emotional and uneasy when Wolverine was burying Charles in the woods, although can't figure out whats the relevance in him saying its near the water? That scene certainly hit hard as I had flashes back to when Logan first enters Prof Xs study room in X1. To then realise it's come full circle 17 years later and its the death of the last 2 great X-men is a real downer. You can say its being blinded by nostalgia but the effect is strong if youve followed these characters since there inception. Just think that if MCU decide to do a similar thing with Tony Stark and Nick Fury in 2025 (the same time scale from IM1) then it will be just as emotional for those who are invested in the MCU.
I give Logan 8/10 for now but will probably rise on a 2nd viewing. Still think DOFP and X2 are superior.

They were going to buy a boat and live out to sea. Xavier going out wasn't that much of a surprise to me (how kinda was). And I really didn't feel anything about it (the family more so). There's too much actual dying and coming back in this series.

Thinking about the movie, the parts that got to me was when Xavier was apologizing to the people he hurt, Laura saying Logan didn't have to worry about her getting hurt, and Rictor. That note got some "Is that really that character?" excitement. Then later in the movie was like "It is!"

I realise that characters like Prof X have died on screen before but watching it in Logan felt genuine and makes me forget the horrible decision Ratner made in X3 to kill off half cast almost.

Another thing, do you think Xavier's backstory is referencing Onslaught?

That actually wasn't Ratner call. Well at least Cyclops death wasn't.

Another thing, do you think Xavier's backstory is referencing Onslaught? No, it's the psychic quakes. He killed some of the X-men in the last one, which explains why Logan is the one looking out for him.

Do you think the seizure that killed the X-men was their version of him becoming Onslaught.
