DISCUSS "LAURA"____________________Laura (1944) Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation Gene Tierney ... Laura Hunt Dana Andrews ... Det. Lt. Mark McPherson Clifton Webb ... Waldo Lydecker Vincent Price ... Shelby Carpenter Judith Anderson ... Ann Treadwell Storyline
Detective Mark McPherson investigates the killing of Laura, found dead on her apartment floor before the movie starts. McPherson builds a mental picture of the dead girl from the suspects whom he interviews. He is helped by the striking painting of the late lamented Laura hanging on her apartment wall. But who would have wanted to kill a girl with whom every man she met seemed to fall in love? To make matters worse, McPherson finds himself falling under her spell too. Then one night, halfway through his investigations, something seriously bizarre happens to make him re-think the whole case.

Nice! I like the way this site handles visuals. I hated clicking on a link not knowing what you would get. This has nice choices for personalizing posts , like the bullet points.
The film info info is lame compared to IMDB.
The real acid test will be the first Garth Game. Navigating back and forth between sites will be a challenge.

Nice! I like the way this site handles visuals. Welcome, Marshamae ! I like that we can link images. This place has a lot of potential. We've lost some things, but we've gained some.

The other day I was so depressed thinking we were losing the boards. Not anymore. This is gonna be a good site. And I love the fact that you can like something with the little thumbs up icon. Sometimes all you want to do is acknowledge that you like something someone says without having to make a whole post. This works perfect for me.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to respond to a specific person. Still trying to navigate this site.

I would love that painting. Any idea where it ended up? Hope not painted over like TGAMM's Rex H. one! Many years ago, Gene Tierney was on the "Mike Douglas Show." At that time, she said the "Painting" was in the possession of her mother.
Over the years, no one (online) has been able to confirm that.
The "Painting," by the way, was a studio photograph, touched up with paint to resemble an oil painting.

Thanks, I didn't know the 1st part (knew it was a photo). I thought of something else regarding the painting:
Someone on some board said that it went to some college, along with Tierney's papers. (Don't recall the college.)
I "Googled" it at the time, and found no mention of the painting.

"Do you think I'm going to leave it to the vulgar pawing of a second-rate detective who thinks you're a dame?"
-WALDO LYDECKER
One of my favorite movie quotes that I still occasionally blurt out. Nobody knows what in Hell I'm talking about.
