I am wondering how you deal with posts that are reported. I notice that unlike OIMDB you don't have a checklist mentioning everything from harassment to porn links. We have a typing box to explain why this post is being reported.
So once you get a report what happens? Do you delete the post if you agree with the reason? Does the poster get a warning like with OIMB? Do they even know they were reported?

Every report is received, reviewed, and in most cases thoroughly discussed by the staff here before any action is taken. Many reports are frivolous and summarily dismissed, in which case the reported user remains unaware of the report unless someone tells them they were reported.

Ok, thanks. What if you agree? Does the poster get a notification or anything other than censorship?

Ok, thanks. What if you agree? Does the poster get a notification or anything other than censorship? Sometimes that, sometimes less, sometimes more. It really all depends on the circumstances. For the most part, the moderation here is discretionary. This seems like a good time to reiterate once again that reports are not the deciding factor, and that I will never discourage anyone from reporting anything they feel should be reported no matter how insignificant it may seem to them. While most reports are dismissed as frivolous, they are always appreciated. Since we can't (and don't) read every post on this forum, the neighborhood watch system has proven to be invaluable here.

Hey I just now saw your answer on the other site. I really freaked out when I saw the ban message. Didn't even bother checking the site after I found I could get on again. I assumed for sure I was on warning or thin ice so I've just been lurking. Probably best I took a break and reevaluated before I start posting now anyway. I feel stupid, but thank you for fixing the snafu.
