Are there any more Alf fans on this board or am I the only one? I think it was one of the best shows of the late 80s early 90s. I have the series on DVD, the comedy still holds up. The only draw back for me are the reports of how much the cast did not like doing the show. Seems filming involved a lot of hurry up and wait; the puppet got the best lines, LOL apparently walking around the set was treacherous, because there were cut outs on the floor to accommodate moving Alf around when Michu wasn't in the suit. ... Still a great show, "I'm working my way back to you," the episode with manservant Alf is my favorite. Also, like the episode where he and Willie battle the cockroach, and the one where Alf thinks he's an insurance man; and, the one where Alf buy Lynn a car.....

All I remember is the way it ended, with no followup. What happened to ALF after the end?

All I remember is the way it ended, with no followup. What happened to ALF after the end? I think that Alf ended on such a sad note, I avoid watching the last episode. I've seen it , but no where near as many times as the other episodes. In the last episode the alien task force is closing in. The Tanners can't get to Alf and save him. You know he is going to get captured. After the series ended, I know there were one or two Alf TV movies, not featuring the Tanners. They are mentioned in one of them. The one where Alf is in some sort of military setting maybe the air force, after having been taken by the alien task force. Alf escapes, causes minor/major mayhem. Okay movie, but not as good as the series. I'm pretty sure there was another movie, but can't remember anything about it.

I read about that online. Without ALF reuniting the Tanners, it seems kind of pointless. They moved to Iceland? Really?

ALF would have worked better with a different family. The actors on that show were so....bland and boring. Like they didn't even want to be there. And as it turned out, that was partly true.

I totally agree with you. They weren't nearly as funny as ALF. Even the families on Mr. Belvedere and Small Wonder were far more funnier and enthusiastic than them, ALF was really the only TRUE star of the show.

I was a fan. Andrea Elson was cute!
In the intro, my brother got a kick out of when ALF breathed on the camera lens to clean it. Simple things, I guess.
He has/had an ALF plush doll. I'm willing to bet good money he still has it.
One scene I remember even after all these years was when Lucky raced out of the kitchen. ALF looks at the family, and says:
He's quick - I'll give him that!

I confess that I never watched this show (nor other post-1980 sitcoms, except THE GOLDEN GIRLS), but wasn't the basic concept that it was supposed to be a spoof of the white bread, picket fence, suburbian comedies of the 1950's?

The Dad from Alf got into some trouble in the nineties.
