ok so 8000 random people voted they like Batman & Joker...are we really surprised by this?
This isn't the gold standard or anything, so do you really feel the need to overhype such a meaningless accolade, you realise if you were as strong in your belief in the DCEU as you like to claim you wouldn't feel the need to overblow and boast about such trivial things right?
just saying.

All he did was post a link.
I'm not surprised Batman is on there. Not too surprised about The Joker either.

Not too surprised about The Joker either. it's his wording, it irritates me, same as when people will use domestic box office to then state movie X is the highest grossing ever but ignore saying domestically, or when any American sports team is proclaimed world champions when they win a championship only played by other American teams, it's silly but it irks me.
Like I said 8000 apparently random people voted on something but alludes to it as though this is undeniable proof of the opinion that billions of other people must share, should he have said "so not only does DC add more Oscars to their trophy case but heres another feather in the cap blah blah magazine reveals..." then I wouldn't care, but his purposeful attempt to mislead perturbs me endlessly.
Also not surprised either by their placement on the list, Batman has had more movie appearances than any other CBM hero or most characters besides James Bond really at this point, and Joker was played by an icon in Nicholson and portrayed iconically by Ledger, so it's no surprise really.

Before we continue...can I ask if you stand by this list as accurate? I assume you do, because you consider this important enough to start a thread so... And in the whole of that list (a 100 was published) Loki, Peter Quill, Groot, Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man and Spider-Man are all above Wonder Woman.

Can't be bothered to type out the whole 100 from the magazine, but here is the longest part of the full list that I can find online (that I can access from work)
1. Indiana Jones 2. Batman 3. Han Solo 4. Ellen Ripley 5. James Bond 6. Travis Bickle 7. Hannibal Lecter 8. Gandalf 9. The Joker 10. Princess Leia 11. Rocky Balboa 12. Sarah Connor 13. The Bride 14. Michael Corleone 15. Jules Winnfield 16. Tyler Durden 17. Maximus Decimus Meridius 18. Spider-Man 19. Harry Potter 20. R P McMurphy 21. Iron Man 22. Loki 23. Darth Vader 24. Gollum 25. The Dude

I was wondering where Rocky was, looks like he just missed out.
Odd list though, why is Leia 9th but then Darth Vader down in 23rd?

I'm sure Carrie Fisher's passing might have something to do with this the article subtly suggests so. Anyway, in such a nerd-testosterone infused list with Batman and Joker one would expect Vader or Luke before Leia.

How is it misleading? DC movies have won Oscars and 2 of DC's characters are among the top 10 greatest movie characters of all time. Since both are true, it's not misleading.

It is when the list you are using is a nothing list, it would be like me stating Iron Man is the most well developed and 3 dimensional characters based on a whatculture video, it's not the be all or end all of accolades, that magazine that polled a mere 8000 fans isn't even one I have heard of before, that list proves absolutely nothing also the lists other top choices show how shallow it is, it's not an actual greatest characters listing but a most popular list, many MANY of the greatest movie characters of all time actually appear in smaller films where the characters are what make the movie work, most of those listed are part of films where spectacle and fun are key not the character.
Batman for instance is hardly a great movie character, he's a great comic one but the movies have never showcased the depth of the character right, Batman isn't the star of his films his villains are, that's why a great villain = a great Batman movie, but he's appeared more times and is more popular because he's the title character so Batman outranks Joker despite Joker being the far better movie character.
Again had you simply been crowing that DC makes 2 of the top 10 of that magazines top character list I wouldn't mind, that would be the truth, what you say is slanted BS to try and validate your opinion because you lack the capability to articulate your own points in a effective manner, atleast imo, but you should try because only be expressing yourself more in actual debate will you improve, continue as you are and you'll always appear as you do and that's not a good thing I'm afraid.

Maybe the prequels put people off of Vader more than one would think, then again Batman is on the list despite what Schumacher did to the character in the 90's so who knows.

I can see that you're really upset that no MCU characters made the top 10, but you shouldn't keep making such weak excuses.

I can see that you're really upset that no MCU characters made the top 10, but you shouldn't keep making such weak excuses. Yeah that's not true because I don't think any MCU character is one of the top movie characters of all time, nor do I think any MCU film is one of the best films of all time, some of the most fun and rewatchable sure but best? nah, I just get annoyed at you and your antics is all.
I mean really genius where did I praise Marvel at all in my other posts? Oh that's right I didn't because this isn't a DC Vs. Marvel thing but a you are a pleb thing, see there's a difference, if you had brains between your ears and not a smouldering mound of faecal matter you would recognise this.

This list is a bit wonky. I can buy Indiana Jones and Batman ranking high, but...
A) James Bond should be first. B) Han Solo and Ripley shouldn't be higher than Bond C) And princess Leia?! Get the fuck outta town. Where's Vader? That's how I know this list is bs.

The list is driven by nostalgia, and in Carrie Fisher's case, sadness over her passing.
It'll be updated in a few years, and there will be Marvel characters on it.
