Firstly, there is no right to death, it just happens inevitably because medicine hasn't advanced to the point where society can literally force your body to live forever. Secondly, the notion that rights are a 'paper illusion' doesn't excuse actively trying to block freedom of speech on an internet message board by filing abuse reports about everything you don't agree with. Firstly, medicine will never advance to that point. If something is made of atoms, it's going to pass away eventually. Secondly, who decides what is to be allowed under freedom of speech? FYI, I didn't report anyone last night. I saw that thread but may not have even clicked on it. I started a thread of my own and was about to go to sleep when another was started, so I posted a couple of times on that. It's absolutely sickening how you guys really think you can follow people around on the Web and put all manner of offensive crap in their faces and then cower behind the concept of "free speech," yet you childishly want that which offends you classified as "hate speech." It makes me want to puke, actually, that anyone could be so immature. Eh? Atoms don't generally die... what does being made of atoms have to do with anything?

Firstly, medicine will never advance to that point. If something is made of atoms, it's going to pass away eventually. Well my point is that death is not, and never has been, a right. It just happens inevitably (mercifully). The clue would be in the term "freedom of speech". Which means that all of us should be grown-up and stoic enough to be able to handle the existence of opinions that we may disagree with. Or if we can't grow a spine, then put the offender on IGHNOR. The admin has an obligation to delete posts which are in direct violation of the Terms and Conditions, otherwise someone could report the forum to ProBoards and have the whole thing removed (I think that this happened, or at least was threatened for another board of which I was a member). So that unfortunately means that the onus falls on us not to be so sensitive; unless a real violation is occurring, such as someone being doxed, someone's bank details being posted, or child pornography being posted. And I am completely against 'hate speech' laws, for your information. I also did a poll here concerning people's attitudes towards hate speech laws, and the majority of those who voted chose the option that hate speech and blasphemy laws should not exist. Oh, is it opinions now? Not facts, or logic, or critical thinking? Just opinions, huh?

It merely requires enough people to grow an anatomical feature known as a backbone and tell the ones like you to piss off. There aren't enough of you in the entire world to make a decent-sized street protest, and it's ridiculous that the Internet gives so much power to such a small group of misfits.

Oh well, if that's the way you see it, perhaps you can take up a collection and hire enough lawyers to get something done about it. And have a nice day.

Stop deleting things. Threads live or die on their own.

I'm not going to name names, but I will say that it wasn't just that one thread. We have received more reports from RFS than all of the other boards combined. How am I supposed to honor my promise to you all if you all won't let me? You should name names, why not? You should reinstate that thread by the way, let people hang by their own words... There were no threats or anything, and the homophobes were being put in their place. I'm pretty sure it was gottaluvafriend who reported my posts. Not positive, but ever since I told him he was being "hateful and petty" in another thread (when he was being hateful and petty) he's replied to many of my posts calling me a "bimbo" and other rude names. If I'm wrong he can say otherwise, but I doubt it. If it was him he needs to simply ignore me and worry about his own posts.

Good gravy, people. Toughen up. Hey you hurt my feelings, I am tough. Reported. [for the record I am kidding about reporting you]
Seriously though, I think anyone who has reported anyone even a single time should be named and then banned or at least called a whiny pathetic little bitch. There is no need to report anyone.
I never once reported anyone on the other board or this board. It's beyond pathetic. If you feel the need to report anyone you should not be posting messages on a public board.

Hello RFS people. FYI: I deleted the entire "Why do christians need scientific proof that homosexuality.." thread because we couldn't keep up with the flood of reports coming in from it. I'm sure most of you remember my promise of minimal moderation for RFS. I am perfectly willing to let you guys do whatever it is you do, and I'm trying my best to stay out of the dramas here, but you're making it very difficult with the way you're all reporting each other. We've been tossing a few bones for RFS here and there, but if you all want minimal moderation, you all might consider minimal reporting because I can't stay out of your way if you insist upon dragging me (and the other mods) into the middle of your family feuds. -John I'll note that back in the glory days of the Soapbox, we had a bright spot when Admins started deleting people for false reports. They did that for a week and we had months of civil discourse following it. A penalty of some sort for false reporting would minimize issues with floods of reports.

Eh? Atoms don't generally die... what does being made of atoms have to do with anything? I didn't day atoms die....because atoms are not biological life. In school I was taught that matter is energy in another form, but maybe that's been revised over the years, along with a lot of other things. Ignoring your massive over-simplification of the relationship between energy and matter... What does have to do with your statement that things die because they're made of atoms? Most of the atoms on this planet right now have been the same sort of atom (e.g. if they're a Nitrogen atom, then they were a Nitrogen atom) for billions of years. And they will continue to be the same sort of atom for billions of years into the future. It's fairly uncommon for an atom to either change into a different element or to cease to exist - the vast majority just carry on. Sure, they may bond with other atoms to form different molecules, but the atom itself remains the same element (i.e. type of atom). But once again - once has any of that got to do with "If something is made of atoms, it's going to pass away eventually."?

Are you still here, bro? Billions of years =/= forever. What's your point? That biological life cannot be preserved forever, so perhaps you should make the most of yours while you've got it. As I recall, Eva Yojimbo hopes to go on indefinitely by having his consciousness transferred to a computer disk. Hopefully he'll have a backup in case someone drops him and steps on him.

How very interesting.
