Oh yeah, Tele. That may have been Tony Perkins in mama's dress in the PSYCHO films, but that was Virginia doing the talking.

She was one of the leading ladies of West Coast radio, along with Jeanette Nolan and Lurene Tuttle (Bea Benaderet was almost exclusively in comedy). VG did a number of Dragnets, courtesy of fellow radio grad Jack Webb. Never seen her looking this young. I thought she was born 50 years old.

Sometimes things just happen, following a thread or stumbling over something interesting, so knowing about her and finding pics was actually purely incidential.

I was introduced too Virginia Gregg in Jack Webb products ie Dragnet,Adam-12 and Emergency. She was the prototypical lady witness VG: "He kept mostly to himself, never caused no problems, always paid his rent on time, I hate people who are late with their rent, makes me have to take a special trip to the bank and--" JOE FRIDAY: "Please ma'am, just the facts."

Virginia Gregg and Jeanette Nolan rocked on OTR Oddly, both were attractive women. I was amazed, as a fan of the old Thriller TV series, when I saw Miss Nolan playing something other than a witch earlier in her career. She was a handsome woman. I saw her on a Hitchcock half-hour the other night and she looked good in that, even in rumpled clothes, living in a hovel.
As to Miss Gregg, Jack Webb seemed to love to cast her a b!tches on the second Dragnet series, in which she was often cast as a pushy nouveau suburban type women with no class wearing big glasses. It seemed that she preferred not to play for sympathy; and when she played bad characters they were downright mean, not evil by mistake but by choice. She too appeared on Thriller, with a black wig, and surprisingly rather attractive looking on account of it, in the Mr. George episode.
