I really think that they did a great job with the character arcs here; MoS considerably improved upon the 70s Donner films: In the first Donner film young Clark was an angry young man uncertain how to use his abilities; after his dad died and he met his real father he suddenly "progessed" by courtesy of plot device (time jump) to be a faux-buffoon (Clark) and a superhero (Kal El).
In MoS this development was a lot more organic and nuanced: Clark slowly and naturally evolved into the Man of Steel by discovering his heritage and his place in the world - he starts out angry and confused about his abilities but at the film ends with a BIG smile (Final shot) showing he has found himself (and the placce, girl and job of his dreams).
I am always amazed as to the obtuseness and limited attention span of some people not understanding character arcs...eh, what was the question again? Jenkins?...dunno, she should do serious films now and a good WW sequel without Steve returning or this becomes MCU stuff...

Not sure. She did a good job with Wonder Woman, but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll make a good Superman film. Let's see what she does with Wonder Woman 2.

Wasn't Monster a serious film, Kool-Aid? So you're saying Ms. Jenkins should stay in her place and direct female-lead CBMs only? I see. Careful brother, lest you end up sipping the Jonestown brand. Hee hee hee...

I wouldn't object. Though I would prefer Vaughn.

Careful brother, lest you end up sipping the Jonestown brand. Hee hee hee... thanks for reading my post to the end and that little straw man as an early Christmas appetizer. Careful sister, never said Jenkins did not do serious projects, just that she should not lose sight of such projects next to her franchise mass ware. You only get one original film with an impact like WW or Monster - MoS 2 or even WW 2 will hardy reap such acclaim and merits. So, Ho-ho-ho...

Is calling a male community member "sister" meant as some sort of pejorative? Do you imply that women are inherently inferior and, as such, are synonymous with weakness and mental instability? Oh my, Kool-Aid, or shall we call you, Kool-Misogynist? You've opened your bathrobe up a bit too far today. Have a care, man.

You can call me whatever you like, dear. what an odd thing to say. Alas, I'm not in the habit of wearing bathrobes. But I will gladly let you engage in all fantasies of me you may have. Enjoy.

Again with the pet names? This isn't looking good, Kool-Aid. I'm sorry but, this is the 21st century and your affections are... well... unwanted. Have you been day drinking? I'm concerned. And what to make of this talk of "fantasies?" Indeed, please ply your trade elsewhere. Hee hee hee...

No, she should focus on Wonder Woman. Maybe she could even help stir the ship of the DCEU

No, she should focus on Wonder Woman. Maybe she could even help stir the ship of the DCEU Stir or steer, the chose is yours. That said, hasn't Ms. Jenkins laid a solid foundation for the princess of Themyscira? I think her due is a shot at revitalizing the Man of Tomorrow. Perhaps she can bring back the hope and optimism that the character was robbed of in previous installments.

That's commendable but, I don't think one hit makes her quite eligible to captain the entire ship - although, I am hard pressed to think of anyone over there who could do a better job at this point. One or two more hits under her belt and then we'll see. Hee hee hee...

Snyder had zero hits but for some reason was awarded the keys to the DCEU.

Snyder had zero hits but for some reason was awarded the keys to the DCEU. Still thinks she's a bit green to run the entire DCEU slate. I'd test her on another CBM picture just to be sure that Wonder Woman wasn't a lark. I think she'd be perfect to right the ship on the wayward Man of Steel franchise. She could get to the character's core values in a compelling way without any unnecessary deconstruction. The DCEU probably doesn't even need an overarching captain as they're not following a strict plan.
