His films are visually beautiful, he’s got balls but damn he needs better scripts.

People say that all the time, and it's the exact opposite of the solution. You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Yes, the guy's films look good, but he's a manchild who can't handle storytelling, complex themes, and directing actors. His main takaway from Watchmen was that "superheroes can get raped in prison!" There's a reason 300 is his most successful film. All it had to do was look pretty and be entertaining.

It has some flaws but it's by far Snyder's best movie. As a big fan of the comic I enjoy it immensely.

As a big fan of the comic I enjoy it immensely. the best by far, only Dawn of the Dead comes a distant second. I watched Watchmen with all the cynicism I had (and have) for kiddy-directed CBMs. But I was seriously impressed . Given the great scope this has with original characters like Rorschach or Dr Manhatten and the intelligent themes and storylines I consider it on par with Nolan Batman, Miller Batman or Superman1. Never read the comic, but it was considered un-filmable and I heard there were elements like space squids eating NY - frankly, I don't need that. Flawed masterpiece 8/10. Still too few of those.

I highly reccomend the comic. It's a truly great piece of fiction. And you'll appreciate the movie that much more. But yeah, the movie is actually quite well done. There are a few flaws though: Malin Ackerman simply cannot act. And Snyder went a little overboard with the violence. Other than that, it's a really good adaptation.
