You're wrong about it needing to make a certain amount to please DC Fanatics. Its the Marvel Fanatics who harp on how much better their movies are, and how much more money theirs make, and how the DCEU sucks.
So the real question is, how much does it need to make to shut YOU up, and stop posting bait threads like this one, on DC boards.

And so will Marvel fans. And if Thor beats JL in box office there will be no end to how many farts will be coming out of the mouths of Marvel fans saying things like "THE JL SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BEAT A THIRD TIER CHARACTER LIKE THOR!" As a matter of fact I can already point you to a few threads saying just that very thing, and neither movie has even come out yet!
Look at how much doo doo is ALREADY coming out of their mouths with Thors RT score being so high. That conversation always comes back to how it equates to it being better than DC. So...
JL is in a curious pickle. First there's Thor which steals some of its opening thunder (no pun intended). Then theres the unfairly high expectations; It would have to make TWO billion dollars to shut anyone up. Even if its a brilliant movie it wont make as much as it could because of the stink of other less than fan-fucking-tastic performances by previous DC movies (Wonder Woman not withstanding). And then two weeks later Star Wars comes out which will steal its back end thunder. Its literally got two weekends to make its money.
But you and the Marvel fanatics wont take any of that into consideration. You'll just point to it as being sucky. And you'll come to a DC board to do it too.

Lets just say this: Thor will beat JL because Marvel fanatics will come out in full force and even non-marvel fans want to see Thor and Hulk fight in an arena. Also, after so many months of down weekends people are ready to come out to the movies. Thor will be the first movie to capture that currently sleeping audience. JL will have a great opening weekend, because Batman is still popular even while played by Affleck, and Wonder Woman is on a high right now. But it wont be able to catch up to Thor because of its two week advantage, and because then Star Wars will come out and will erase both movies legs. Bottom line: Star Wars.

I don't think it will hit the billion mark, but it has the tools to do so.

Doesn't really suggest it got much in the way of multiple viewing from anybody.
