My wife brought home some Bryers vanilla ice cream the other day. I said I wished we had an apple pie to go with it. Neither of us are pie bakers so she said lets try this. What you will need besides the ice cream: Six or seven apples (or more) Ground Cinnamon Sugar Apple corer like below Peel the apples and then core them. Put cored apples in pan and rinse. Add about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water in pan. Add a couple spoon fulls of sugar and some ground cinnamon. Start out with medium to high on your stove. When the water starts to boil turn it down to low heat. Then just stir once in awhile till the apple sauce is of the consistency you want it. As it is cooking taste a few times and add more sugar and ground cinnamon to your taste. While still warm put right over the vanilla ice cream. Delicious. So much better than store bought apple sauce.

That sounds delicious! And, I'm sure it far surpasses commercial applesauce. Thanks!

or you could just buy a marie calendars or sara lee... Guess we could. But to do that we would have had to go to the store. We had everything we needed at home. It was easy to make and better than any store bought apple sauce I ever tried.
