I finished watching Restoration (1995) earlier today. Now I can't remember how I wound up on the wiki page then Loyola's webpage about it.
Anyway, this and the ballad written about it later sounds so timely today with the emphasis on conspiracy theories fueled by religious intolerance/persecution, followed by the subsequent targeting and crackdown on certain groups. In this case, Catholics.
Sounds like a good idea for a historical/political drama but it's probably too much work for today's Hollywood screenwriters to adapt proper.
