When they're on their A-game, the XMEN franchise does seem like a good balance between the Marvel and DC movies.

A cool article equals raising X-men above all other franchises.
I don't know if you liked this post because I said that the article is good because it made the X-men movies look good or you understood that I was being sarcastic. Because I was totally being sarcastic.

When they're on their A-game, the XMEN franchise does seem like a good balance between the Marvel and DC movies. But they are not always at their best. I think dark phoenix is going to be a disaster. fox is not ready to take on such an iconic storyline, this young cast are not ready either. Truly all I care about is XForce, New Mutants and Gambit.

its down to the source material and respecting the source material to an extent...at least in tone and themes. most people already knew what xmen was like and the tone of xmen stories. I think this was also the fascination with X-Men TAS even till now. it was just a landmark moment that a Saturday morning cartoon could have so much maturity, grown up social themes, heavy dialogue and dark content. DOFP and God Loves Man Kills were already legendary comic stories before the movies, (some of the best of Claremont's writings) so there was no way Fox could turn it into dumb comedy with the X2 and DOFP movies. The X-Men universe and literacy has always been a different beast for marvel, for instance when the new mutants trailer was released and some said why is it horror, many replied and said ...because the story from the comics is actually horror and you should read it and the ''some''' replied with...okay. No doubt xmen movies still has a long way to go and we as fans should criticise when fox messes up but in the long run, I see the potential of X-men movies. that potential would have been gone if Marvel had the rights. I just can't wait for X-Force.

Wrong, Fox sucks at X-Men except for Deadpool and Logan which were done right.

Jesus Christ. WHY ON EARTH do you haters and naysayers come here? Do you thrive on conflict or does bitching and moaning ceaselessly make you feel empowered?? Since this is a gynocentric world, I tend to think the latter.
