Majority of posters and promo pics show Thor using two swords. Then in the actual film he uses it for something like 5 seconds. Then he goes back to using a hammer. Dammit, I wanted to see his sword skills.

Dammit, I wanted to see his sword skills. That's your biggest complaint about the marketing!? What about all the alternate takes used in the trailer and the scenes that were cut? Hela never does that rad spin move where she releases a torrent of knives that Loki or Valkyrie was seen deflecting. (Unless I blinked and missed it). |

You’re talking about Hulk’s hammer. Anyway I just think it’s good that Thor’s hammer is gone. He’s better with swords.

Vikings wore silver hammer charms. They didn't wear sword charms to represent Thor. He’ll probably get another hammer, but I like the swords better. Anyway Marvel’s Thor is hardly faithful to Norse mythology anyway so who cares? There’s only so many ways you can make a hammer look cool. |

Anyway Marvel’s Thor is hardly faithful to Norse mythology anyway so who cares? There’s only so many ways you can make a hammer look cool. Mjolnir is cool. In the first movie it's is so cool when the hammer changes course to return to his hand. In the second movie he dives off the balcony confident Mjolnir will come to his hand to take him where he is headed. Then when he is falling through all the portals, the poor thing keeps chasing after him. And in Ragnarok it is so cool when Thor is just casually tossing it around, threatening it to hit Loki's head. Not to mention Surtur's dragon. "Stay". I love the sound it makes, that ringing. Swords are a dime a dozen. |
