Braniac 5 has been confirmed to be coming to 'Supergirl.' I am surprised over this decision 'cause while we have known for a while the Legion was going to be debuting this season and the actress for Saturn Girl was officially announced a few weeks ago it has also been confirmed Braniac is going to be in the new 'Krypton' TV show so we will have 2 different versions of Braniac in different DC TV shows at the same time. Needless to say I am looking forward to seeing what they do with him and I wouldn't mind them making him Kara's new love interest. Justice League Unlimited is the best incarnation of a Braniac 5 that Kara shares a relationship with. So I'm not opposed to this romantic coupling, however the writing doesn't support the relationships potential. Already Kara is different from her comic book counter-part, she's more Clark Kent than she is Kara Zor-El. Despite past changes it could still work, but considering the relationships that have already taken place on this show, I doubt it'll be any better. For the curious:

Who cares! Mon-El is supposed to come back in episode 7 and Braniac will not be able to steal Kara's heart.

Thanks for sharing that Austra. Did you see Braniac 5 in 'Smallville' Season 10? I kinda liked seeing James Marsters playing Braniac as a good guy after we had seen him as a villain before and it was a shame they didn't use him in more episodes. Hopefully they do the character justice along with Saturn Girl and the other members of the Legion.

I just don't have time these days; why is growing up so boring?

I watched 'Smallville' on Channel 10 and 10HD when it first aired here in Australia and it originally started out on Channel 9 but they aired the first season and kept it for 2 years until fans complained to the creators of the show and they got stripped of the rights and it went to Channel 10 that aired two episodes a week on Channel 10 during seasons 2-5 to catch up with America. It is a good show and one that is worth checking out for DC fans and Superman fans in particular. I don't know if you watched 'Buffy' but James Marsters was also well-known for playing Spike.

The wait to see 'Supergirl's' version of Braniac 5 is almost over and the character will be making their official debut when the show returns. Hopefully they do a better job with him than they have with Saturn Girl so far and I am looking forward to seeing the other members of the Legion who are said to be going up against Reign in the coming episodes. To be honest, I am not excited about this. I ddo not like how Mon-El and especially Saturn Girl. I think they're going to continue their record of out of character, and dull Legion of Superhero characters.
But that shouldn't be surprising with the show that turned Maggie Sawyer into Renee Montoya.

As opposed to J'Onn, the telepath, or Imra, who is supposed to be a telepath as well; either of whom could communicate with her mind in her "dreamlike state"....

Yes, there is no reason why they need Brainiac 5 when other characters can get the job done. Hopefully they come up for a reason why they need B5 specifically and not ignore everybody else's telepathic powers.

Hopefully they come up for a reason why they need B5 specifically and not ignore everybody else's telepathic powers. Yeah. Technically there isn't and Saturn Girl should be powerful enough to get inside of Reign's head and give Sam control back over her body and if this version of Reign is Kryptonian Martian Manhunter should be able to easily defeat her with Kryptonite but they are likely to drag it out and they will have Martian Manhunter go up against Reign and lose and then the Legion members will go up against Reign and lose too and it will ultimately be Kara and Sam's daughter (once they work out who she is) getting through to Sam which will be the end of Reign. My predictions are Sam will either get full control over her body and send Reign out, they will find a way to separate Sam and Reign like Clark did with Davis and Doomsday in 'Smallville' or during the time Sam has control over her body she will kill herself.

or during the time Sam has control over her body she will kill herself. Awe, hell, I see it now; Reign, or an associate, initiates some sort of doomsday protocol (with or without the "Doomsday" implications),but before it goes off, Kara gets through to Sam, who sacrifices herself to save the world; and Alex adopts her daughter...

Yeah. I think it is pretty obvious that is how it is going to end. If they just wanted Reign to be the villain of the season they would have made her evil from day one like her comic book counterpart but I believe there is a reason they added this 'Sam' character to the show along with her daughter and they made it clear that Sam and Reign are two separate personalities and Sam didn't become Reign which is kinda misleading from what the showrunners said last year and if you read back through some of the interviews this was supposed to be the journey of a character becoming a villain but Sam didn't become a villain like Lex in 'Smallville' and has kinda just had her body overtaken. Sam does not know she is Reign and will probably be upset when she finds out she is.

Man, has this so become predictable that we can so easily know what is going to happen? That's kinda depressing.

Man, has this so become predictable that we can so easily know what is going to happen? That's kinda depressing. Sadly it has become that way with a few TV shows especially the ones that are part of the 'Arrowverse' but I will give them credit with the identity of Prometheus last season 'cause a lot of people assumed Adrian Chase was Vigilante 'cause he is in the comic books and thought Prometheus was going to turn out to be Tommy, Yao Fei or Dolph Lundgren's character and never thought of Adrian. I don't think anybody guessed who Vigilante was going to turn out to be this season either.
