Will Smith fighting Dwayne Johnson would be admittedly pretty cool if massively one-sided in this case.
TEXT:
The Wrap is reporting word from sources behind the scenes at the DC Extended Universe that Dwayne Johnson will be making his franchise debut in the developing Suicide Squad 2, which will be written and directed by Gavin O'Connor. Perhaps more importantly, he would be positioned as an integral part of the story, with the titular team on the look for him as their mission because the Kahndaqian powerhouse is considered a weapon of mass destruction. Johnson teased earlier this year that there was a "cool surprise" in store for Black Adam's introduction to the DCEU, and assuming this report is true, facing off against the Suicide Squad certainly can be classified as "cool." It’s a little weird but it can work. Also it’s funny because I made up an old idea of the Secret Society or Legion of Doom going against the JL in JL 2. Their goal would be to find Black Adam and use him as a weapon.

Like an antiheroic Superman and we see his fall from grace over the centuries. He fights King Kull, is seduced by Maxima, and then corrupted by Vandal Savage.

Another over mighty being, the Squad should face? Boring! We already had this in the first movie, and hasn't work. Let the enemy be a group of terrorists, or another villain who is on the same Level. The Squad members are mostly ordinary humans, so they need a more human opponent.

What the fuck is someone like Deadshot going to do against Black Adam? It's like putting Hawkeye up against Hulk.

This rumor is believable because Black Adam was part of a Suicide Squad storyline in the comics.

I'm hoping Black Adam is the objective and not the antagonist. That way, it can make sense that the Suicide Squad 2 will still be grounded while still featuring him. Have the Squad be tasked to retrieve this unknown objective because the US government wants that sort of power on its side, but nobody knows what it actually is. Have a competing group or villain with mercenaries like Basilisk or League of assassins going up against the Squad who are trying to retrieve the same objective. It could be any grounded DC villain, organization or mob boss etc. Then in the end, when it's revealed that the objective is a person aka Black Adam, both the Squad and the antagonist cannot contain him and he escapes. This can tie a bit into Shazam or the Black Adam films. This is the only way I can see how the Suicide Squad sequel can be grounded but yet have a super-powered magical villain in it. No Joker in this film either.

This rumor is believable because Black Adam was part of a Suicide Squad storyline in the comics. That doesn't automatically mean, that he has to be a member in the movie too. Katana and Killer Croc weren't even members in the comics, but added for the movie.

I'm not saying Black Adam is going to be part of the team, but the movie might be adapting that particular storyline.

I hope not. Like many others, i want the sequel to be more grounded, with a global threat. Black adam would only out of place there.

That will be a worldwide threat. A global threat could be a leader of a terror organization, who steals atom rockets, and tryng to destroy a city.

Amanda Waller sends the team to go after a mass weapon but nobody knows what it is. Another team, a terrorist organization wants the same thing to destroy a city or take over. They find out at the end it’s Black Adam and we get a little action from him in the third act final battle and only that.

That will only repeat the same mistake, the first had made. The Squad shouldn't fight an overmighty being.

He was a member of the team for a while in the comics. I think he should be a member in the movies. The squad would need a Superman level member once in a while.
Speaking of powerful members, I would love if they put Chemo on the team at some point.

Speaking of powerful members, I would love if they put Chemo on the team at some point. It would be more interesting if he was an ally instead of a threat. They already did this with Enchantress and it was the worst part of the movie.
