I was on a X-board and many X-23 fans don’t seem to like the idea of dropping the current film franchise for two reasons. The first one being losing Dafne Keen‘s X-23 and her solo movie would be a giant waste. The second reason is that we wouldn’t see X-23 on-screen for over a decade.
Allow me to explain: If the X-Men are rebooted into the MCU they would have to start completely from square one. I mean you have to show the X-Men in their infancy and rehash some plot points Fox had done in their prequel films. Like mutants being revealed to the public and then the X-Men forming. Because the premise of the X-Men is that they are a team of superheroes that protect a world that fears and hates them. But as of now the MCU doesn’t have mutants so there can be no pre-existing fear and hatred.
Without the public knowing about mutants would also mean that Weapon X wouldn’t exist yet. It would have to be formed after mutants become public knowledge. Weapon X is crucial to the birth of X-23 so she is not a character that can even exist before the reveal of mutants in the MCU. Then you have wait many years for her to actually to do something with her.
But do you guys think Marvel can found a way around this?

If the trade-off is better focusing on the rest of the X-Men...it'll be worth it.

He seems to be better at foreshadowing and planning than whoever is in charge of the FoX-Films.

Mutants are all around, the "ugly" ones are shunned or said to be myths or hushed by the government or even other mutants (telepaths and such). Until that one Phase 4.5-5 day when they can't be hidden anymore. Then we have:

And if telepaths were keeping people quite then organizations like Weapon X wouldn’t have been founded.

And it wasn't a US sponsored operation like in the movies. And I don't think all the government's secrets were revealed because that would have ended the MCU with villains being in high places.

Weapon X is US sponsored in the comics since it was by the same people that started the super solider program(aka Weapon Plus).
