Thought about renting it to see the difference... Don't waste your money. Rent something you've never seen instead, give the money to charity or melt the rental cost in quarters down and drip the molten metal on your bare nipples.......literally anything is more entertaining than watching that enervated dirge.

It varies from person to person, but the majority believes it's better.
I thought it was an improvement but nothing like night and day (like a 6.7 to a 7.6), a friend actually hated the TC and kind of likes the UC ( I think he bumped it from a 3 to a 6), then you have someone like Grace Randolph who thinks that it's a step back.
You have more time with Clark.
It simply depends where your issues lie, if you hate the characterizations then.... this probably won't help, but if your issues were with story, pacing, and a lack of superman... then maybe this will help.

It's really about what did you think the problem was with BVS. If it was narrative coherence then the ultimate cut might fix some of it's problems. If the problem was the dark tone, then you are out of luck.
Most gripes that I had with theatrical cut are still there so for me it wasn't that much of an improvement.

For me it is a significant difference. Granted, i didn't hate the theatrical cut but the extended cut improves a lot on his narative

It improve the narrative a little but not by a whole lot. The theater version was a 6/10 for me and the UC was a 7/10.

It's notably better but not enough to completely change mass opinion or anything.
I suppose like the Directors Cut of Daredevil or Alien 3.

I didn't like BvS much upon first view (5.5/10). But since then I only saw the UC and it's on 6.5, flawed but an idiosyncratic artistic vision I find interesting.
But maybe it's not so much the cut but rather that upon repeated views the slow-burn character and the complex plot structure is more enjoyable. If you found it dull, slow and uninteresting first, maybe the UE will make it even worse for you.

I still want to see it. BvS sucked, but it mostly sucked because of pacing and editing. I actually liked the characters, besides Lex of course. If this fixes those, I might enjoy the movie more.

There is a large amount of the film they cut, and its edited differently in some major scenes. It is totally worth seeing, as it is clearly the better film, because it is the version Snyder wanted.

If those were your major issues, then yes you definitely should watch it because it includes several scenes that make the film flow better despite being a longer film. The Africa sequence and it's aftermath is expanded and it makes sense as to why people are blaming Superman. You also have scenes with Clark Kent actually doing some journalism and his reasoning for going after Batman is more fleshed out.

All of the versions I have to stream, like on HBO Go, are the theatrical version. I hope they put this version out there somewhere.

Thought about renting it to see the difference... It's just longer, it's still a depressingly bad movie, even if some of it makes a tiny bit more sense.
