I was trying to think of a comic book trilogy that has an Average RT rating below 50. I just looked up the Blade series and it actually stoops that low with the third getting a 25 and the first two in the 50's. Ghost Rider was awful but only has 2 films. I suppose we could count that though. Oh and there are only 2 fantastic four films, but those are well below 50 also. Maybe Daredevil and Elektra? Again only two films but that's relevant.
Obviously TDK series, Cap, Iron Man, Thor, and Avengers are well above 70.
Can you think of any others? |

Yes, it doesn't have great reviews just like many other movies as well over the decades, it happens. We had better Batman movies and now we have weaker ones. We had weaker Captain America movies and now we have better ones. In the future that will probably reverse again. Maybe the Synder trilogy is one of the weaker comic trilogies but The Dark Knight trilogy is Undisputed the best so it all balances out in the end. |

Yes, it doesn't have great reviews just like many other movies as well over the decades, it happens. We had better Batman movies and now we have weaker ones. We had weaker Captain America movies and now we have better ones. In the future that will probably reverse again. Maybe the Synder trilogy is one of the weaker comic trilogies but The Dark Knight trilogy is Undisputed the best so it all balances out in the end. Actually I would say the Captain America trilogy is the best in all honesty, and mostly because Civil War is a much better third film than TDKR. TWS is obviously one of the best films ever, as is CW, and TFA is perfectly good and stands up to whatever the third film in that batman series is, even if we want to say it's not quite as good, it's still close enough. |

A total of 1.26 million people got The Dark Knight Rises as #64 on the Top 250 on IMDB meanwhile 450,000 people have not put Civil War in the Top 250. 94% of Google Users liked The Dark Knight Rises. Civil War has a lesser 92%. So yeah, the majority consider The Dark Knight Rises better than Civil War. Do I think it's better? Yes. Is it on another level from it? No. Is the whole TDK trilogy on another level from the Captain America trilogy? Definitely.

Well the TDKR is not better than Civil War. That's absurd, and it's not just my opinion. Civil War produced overwhelming positive buzz and TDKR had a distinct WTF quality about it. That's very clear.
But weren't we talking about the worst trilogy though? You just seemed to shift topics there.
I mean clearly the Cap and Batman trilogies are at least comparable. It's not like the Thor trilogy is comparable to Snyder's which is obviously worse.

Man of Steel has pretty much the same metacritic score as the first two Thor movies but with a superior IMDb and Google score. Oddly enough Man of Steel and Thor Dark World both have the exact same average score of 6.2 on RT and yet Thor has a 66% and Man of Steel a 55%. Batman vs Superman's user scores are again in the same ballpark as Thor. A smaller difference than the TDK movies and Captain America. But as I said TMNT from 1990-1993 is the worst comic book trilogy. So no the Synder movies aren't the worst.

Thor never threatened to derail the MCU. MOS did to the point they had to apologize for it with the entire plot of the next movie. BVS definitely threatened the DCU which is why it came up hundreds of millions short of Civil War. And now JL is still rated worse than any MCU film, just like the other two. There is no debate here, and scores don't have anything to do with it.
The difference between the Snyder trilogy and Thor is much wider in Thor's favor than any possible difference between TDK and Cap which is practically none. I mean you're showing scores that depict TDKR as better than Civil War which we both know is not the case.
But again the question of this thread is, Is the Synder trilogy the worst trilogy?
