Made you nostalgic of Burton's Batman I wanted to talk about it too: 1 ) Did not like re-use of old Batman theme 2 ) Did not like re-use of old Superman theme 3 ) Did not like the re-use of old Spider-man cues in closing credits 4 ) Did not like the re-use of Zimmer MoS theme

My co worker and I were really worried about this because Elfman has really been flat for over a decade now. And we were really worried when Elfman said he was using his classic Batman theme.
However, I'll be the first to admit I was way off. He used his Batman theme perfectly, didn't over use it. Not only that he fixed that bombastic Wonder Woman theme.
Not as good as what Zimmer has brought to the table for the past 12 years, but it was good.

On a Youtube vid the comments go through most all the cues he took from other movies.

This is just what composers do after decades of work. Watch Transformers 3, you can hear Inception 528491, a year after he made that theme for Inception. So, I won't use that against Elfman.

But Elfman didn't do the soundtracks to these other movies... Now I can forgive his movies sounding kinda the same (can hear Beetlejuice in his Batman songs), but when he starts doing other characters themes then something ain't right. Hell Raimi's Spider-man theme popping up is okay. John Williams does the same thing in a lot of his movies. It's a theme he did and transfers over because it's his style. When you hear the themes of an dissociated character that he didn't write for...

It's not really noticeable in the slightest minus Flash scenes.
If you care about scores..... yeah this isn't the place, there is no score showcase moment.

But Elfman didn't do the soundtracks to these other movies... Fair enough. He did however work on Age of Ultron where he would have used the Avengers and Hulk themes.

I liked it, it wasn't his best but it gave the film more heart and an upbeat tone.

You won't hear much about it because discussing the Elfman score is a No win scenario for fanboys of this crappy universe:
Either they admit they were WRONG for the last four years for sneering about how the classic Superman theme is ONLY for "Christopher Reeve's Superman" and won't ever be used in a "reboot", OR admit their crappy "DCEU" CAN'T use this theme as well as the classic films.

I liked it enough. It wasn't the booming, in-your-face score of Zimmer's BvS work, but I liked it.

It's common to use character themes. Star Wars without Vader's theme?
Go away.
I loved hearing Sons of Odin in Ragnarok. Very appropriately placed.
