I highly doubt it'll lose more than Jonah Hex or Catwoman.

I highly doubt it'll lose more than Jonah Hex or Catwoman. They lost the studio about $100 million or so in theaters. Justice League could easily do that off a $281 million worldwide opening weekend.

Well Batman vs Superman made $105 million profit.
Justice League has a $50 million budget higher than that movie though and it's unlikely to make as much. It might make a loss but I don't think it would be hugely drastic.

If it has solid legs, it could finish in the $700 million range. Otherwise? Probably $600 million.

Otherwise? Probably $600 million. Exactly! $300 million budget, at least $150 million marketing....add them together and double it gives you $900 million. Those legs are going to have to be a good deal better than "solid."

It probably wouldn't need $900 million. In order to make a profit, might be able to get away with $800 million to break even if something.
That won't likely happen though, maybe $700 million if it's lucky.

The marketing is thought to be at least $150 million. The rule of thumb is simple math. Add the marketing and production budget then double it to give you the break even point in theaters. Justice League needs to be grossing a lot more than $800 million worldwide. The movie will probably make a profit....eventually. Blu-ray sales and ancillaries will see to that. That is why I prefixed the title, "in theaters." In terms of it's theatrical performance (miracles aside), it is looking to be a complete disaster.

Yeah, that isn't too different to what I was saying. When you start taking ancillaries and Blu-ray sales into account, it will probably eke out a small profit. A movie's success or failure in theaters isn't judged on ancillaries and Blu-ray sales though. It is judged by profit or loss made from butts on seats.
